Huangmei County
Huangmei County, a county under the jurisdiction of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, is located on the North Bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the south edge of the tail of Dabie Mountain. It borders Susong County, Anhui Province in the East, Wuxue City in the west, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province in the South and Qichun County in the north. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, showing a subtropical monsoon climate. The total area is 1701 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
Huangmei has a long history. It was inhabited by human beings in the late Paleolithic period (10000-40000 years ago).
In Xia, Shang and Western Zhou dynasties, according to Yu Gong, the whole country was divided into nine states at that time, and Huangmei belonged to Yangzhou.
The Eastern Zhou Dynasty and the early spring and Autumn Period belonged to Chu.
During the Warring States period, they belonged to Yue and Chu respectively.
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (221 BC), the country was divided into 36 counties, belonging to Jiujiang county.
In the first year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (206 BC), Xiang Yu granted yingbu the title of king of Jiujiang. Lu'an (now Lu'an, Anhui Province) is the capital of Jiujiang state of Western Chu. In July of the fourth year (203 BC), Gaozu granted yingbu the title of king of Huainan, belonging to the Han Huainan kingdom. At that time, the neighboring counties (Qichun, Chaisang and Songzi) were all set up in the same year. Huangmei was not under its jurisdiction, and the county was not recorded in the historical records.
It was named Xunyang in the early Han Dynasty. In the 16th year of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty (164 BC), the state of Lujiang was established in Huainan. The eldest son of King Li, marquis Yang Zhou, was the king of Lujiang. He led the twelve counties, and Xunyang was one of them. The county government is located in the ancient town near today's Caishan mountain.
In the reign of Emperor Shun of the Eastern Han Dynasty (126-144), Huangmei County belonged to Lujiang County of Yangzhou. In the 13th year of Jian'an (208), Sun Quan divided Jiangxia County into Qichun county and led Xunyang to Jingzhou. In the 14th year of Jian'an (209), LV Meng was the order of Xunyang. In 221, Sun Quan changed Hubei Province to Wuchang county and led Xunyang to Jingzhou. In the same year, Sun Quan changed Wuchang county to Jiangxia county. In the third year of Huangchu (222), Huangmei County belonged to Qichun County of Jingzhou. Wu Huangwu four years (225 years), belongs to Wu Yangzhou Qichun county.
In the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (280), Qichun county was withdrawn and Xunyang county was designated as Wuchang County of Jingzhou. Taikang two years (281), also under the jurisdiction of Yangzhou Lujiang County. In the first year of Yongxing (304), Xunyang county was divided into two counties, Xunyang County in Lujiang River and Chaisang County in Wuchang. The northern territory is under the jurisdiction of Qichun County of Xiyang state in Yuzhou, and the county governs today's Tumen City of Balihu in Qichun county. Nanjing still belongs to Xunyang County, where the county government moved to Hewen village in Jiangnan, and is subordinate to Xunyang County in Jiangzhou.
In the first year of Yongxing (304), Xunyang County of Lujiang River and Xunyang County of chaisangli in Wuchang were designated. It was bounded by the "old road of Jiangbei" along the line of Taibai lake and Longgan Lake. The Northern Territory belonged to Qichun County, while the southern territory was still Xunyang County whose County government moved to the south of the Yangtze River.
In the early Xianhe period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326), it was attached to Xiyang County of Yuzhou. In 378, in order to avoid the taboo of Empress Dowager Zheng Chun, Qichun was changed to Qiyang, which belonged to Nanxin Cai county of Yuzhou and was supervised by Jiangzhou.
In the first year of Xiaojian in Song Dynasty (454), Yingzhou was divided into six counties, including Xiyang County of Yuzhou, and Qiyang County was subordinate to Yingzhou along with Xiyang County. Taishi five years (469 years), with the Xiyang County also Li Yuzhou.
Yongxing County was established in the east of Qiyang County in 486. In 581, Yongxing County was changed into Xincai county. In 598, Xincai county was changed into Huangmei County. Southern Dynasty: in the eighth year of the Ming Dynasty (464), it was first written in the annals of history that the overseas Chinese here set up Baoxin county. At the end of Liang Dynasty (556), Baoxin county was changed into Xincai county. In 589, Xunyang county and nanxincai second County, Runan County, Chaisang county and Xincai county were restored to Xunyang county.
In the early years of kaihuang (581), Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty removed the prefectures and set up the general manager's office, and changed Yongxing County into Xincai County, which was subordinate to the general manager's office of Qizhou. The area to the south of the North Branch of the new river still belongs to Xincai County, Jiangzhou. Kaihuang nine years (589 years), to state, kaihuang eighteen years (598 years) to Xincai County for Huangmei, Li Qizhou. In the third year of Daye (607), Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty changed Qizhou into Qichun County, leading Huangmei and other five counties.
In 621, Huangmei was divided into four counties: Yifeng, Changji, Tangyang and Xincai. Wude eight years (625 years), the abolition of the state, the province's four counties back to Huangmei County.
During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Huangmei was still attached to Qizhou. Later Zhou Xiande five years (958), take Jiangbei land, belongs to the Later Zhou Dynasty.
In the third year of the Song Dynasty (997), the country was divided into 15 roads, which were under the jurisdiction of Huainan road and Qichun County of Qizhou. In the fifth year of Xining (1072), Huainan was divided into east-west road and West Huainan road. During the war of Jiaxi (1237-1240), the county governed the overseas Chinese in the middle of Dajiang (Dehua).
Yuan to Yuan 12 years (1275), in Qizhou home Huaixi Xuanfu division, Huangmei Li. In 1277, Huangmei Prefecture was established as the general manager of Qizhou. In the 23rd year of the Yuan Dynasty (1286), xuanweisi was removed and Qizhou was subordinate to Huguang province. In the first year of Huangqing (1312), the county was moved to Huangmei town. In the ninth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1376), he was demoted to Qizhou Prefecture, which was under the jurisdiction of Huangzhou Prefecture. In the 11th year of Hongwu (1378) of the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to be subordinate to the Chief Secretary of Henan Province, and in the 24th year of Hongwu (1391) of the Ming Dynasty, it was also subordinate to the Chief Secretary of Huguang Prefecture, and the capital of Shangli Prefecture remained unchanged.
In the early Qing Dynasty (1644), it was under the jurisdiction of huangde of Han Dynasty and Huangzhou Prefecture. In the third year of Kangxi reign (1664), Hubei Provincial chief secretary was set up. Huangmei was subordinate to Huangzhou Prefecture.
Huangzhou Prefecture was abolished in 1912. Zhili, Hubei Province, Wuhan, huangdedao. Later, it was transferred to Edong road. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Edong road was changed to Jianghan Road, which was under its jurisdiction. In 1929, Jianghan Road was abandoned and Zhili was established in Hubei Province. In 1932, there were 11 administrative supervision districts in Hubei Province. In 1936, the third and fourth administrative supervision districts were merged into the third administrative supervision district, which was established by Huang Meili.
In May 1949, the CPC set up the Central Plains District. In June, the Central Plains District was set up as the Central South District, and Hubei Province was set up. Huangmei County was subordinate to Huanggang district.
On June 5, 1950, a part of xinzhoushang under the jurisdiction of Caishan district was assigned to Guangji County by Huanggang special office.
In 1954, the central and southern region was abolished, and Huangmei was subordinate to the province.

Huangmei County is located in the southeast of Hubei Province, on the south edge of the tail of Dabie Mountain, on the North Bank of the junction of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, at the junction of Hubei, Jiangxi and Anhui provinces, Susong County of Anhui Province in the East, Wuxue City of Hubei Province in the west, Jiujiang City of Jiangxi Province across the river and two bridges in the south, and Qichun County of Hubei Province in the north. It spans 115 degrees 43 minutes to 116 degrees 07 minutes east longitude, 29 degrees 43 minutes to 30 degrees 18 minutes north latitude, with a maximum width of 37 kilometers from east to west and a maximum length of 61 kilometers from north to south. The total area of the county is 1701 square kilometers.

The terrain of Huangmei County is high in the north and low in the south, presenting a three-step gradient. The northern mountain belongs to the vein of Dabie Mountains, the central part is hilly and ridge plain, the central and southern part is lake, and the southern part is lakeside sedimentary plain and riverside alluvial plain. The plain and lake account for 78% of the total area of the county.

The climate in the territory has obvious transitional characteristics, mainly characterized by obvious monsoon, mild climate, moderate rainfall, sufficient light, long frost free period, four distinct seasons, changeable spring temperature, concentrated summer rain, crisp autumn, long and dry winter.
