How to embark on the road of music
Students often ask me how to embark on the road of music and how to become a composer, I always find it difficult to answer, not because the plot is complex and unclear, but because there is no plot to say. There are only two words I can tell the children: ambition and diligence. It is often by chance what people do. When I was in the second grade of primary school, a friend of my father gave each of our brothers a harmonica. I fell in love with music from the scales of those reeds of harmonica, and finally embarked on the road of music. Just like all people embarked on a certain road due to some accidental opportunity, it is a common and common accidental phenomenon, which is not enough to be taught or explored. What is worth exploring is not how to go on the road of music, but how to go on the road of music. As I said before, I went into the music world from a harmonica player, and then I learned Violin and composition. At that time, all the works we studied were western, very intoxicated, so we worshiped them very much. Naturally, we studied and pursued them tirelessly. The more worship, the more pursuit, the more intoxicated, often pull to the level of morning and dusk upside down. It's "enough input" in the current words. Due to the constant pursuit of higher level music satisfaction, some music lovers with the same interests continue to promote each other. I can't help but be overjoyed when I get something occasionally. I also imitate and write some music or songs that I am intoxicated with. I am intoxicated in my music heaven, sometimes making others feel that I am a little mentally abnormal. From a young man to a young man, I lived in the period of the enemy puppet rule and the Chinese civil war. I had many troubles, pains and perplexities, and often sought solace or expression in music. When it's still at night, you can plug the window, plug the string board, and play the piano for two hours with a long song instead of crying, so that you can reach the realm of wandering too empty and not eating people's fireworks. This is what happened in the early stages of my music study. The main feature is from hobby to research, and finally determined to be a musician. In fact, there was no clear utilitarian purpose at that time. If there was, it was self satisfaction. Music exists for me. I only study and engage in music for my needs, hobbies and satisfaction. Looking back at this period 50 years later, I realized that it was an inevitable historical process. There was a positive side, that is, music ambition and research spirit. There was also a deficiency side, that is, I lacked the social consciousness of music art, didn't understand the national meaning and popular meaning of music beauty, but just took it as a tool for self entertainment. At this stage, I ran for a while on the road of music, blindly climbed a small slope in the grass. When I look around breathlessly, I find that the land of China is full of cars and horses, and the world of music has another scene. I came out of the music world of the "ego" in the years after I took part in the revolutionary work. In the winter of 1945, the Eighth Route Army went to Linjiang county and accepted our school. But I didn't like the music they brought. I thought it was too rustic and wild. Although I also participated in those singing activities and artistic performances, I always felt that it was not real art and was not beautiful.
Lv Yuan's visit to art life
So there is a daytime accompaniment "brothers and sisters open up wasteland", at night ran to no one's place to play western music to balance feelings. This situation lasted for quite a long time, and finally gradually realized the social significance of music art and the emotional and formal beauty of national music and popular music in the revolutionary movement. Only then did I know that my music didn't exist for me, but for my audience. The problem is that we must unify ourselves with the aesthetic taste and artistic purpose of the object. This is actually the problem of changing the ego's ambition into the ego's ambition. This is a complicated thought process. Over the past 50 years, I have been setting up, revising and consolidating this "ambition" of doing my best for the people, the nation and the public. Here we need to study the cultural heritage, love the national music and the sense of responsibility for the development of social culture. It's a process of self-improvement that can't stop until old age. Ambition can only be sustained by hard work. No ambition, no ambition, but no diligence. I don't believe much in the difference of people's talents, but I believe in the theory that hard work is the decisive factor. When I was a child, I was envious of other people's fluent playing skills. I always felt that they were born different. But after I worked hard, I was confident that I could do it. Genius is not to be sought, but diligence is to be found. I often feel clumsy, not like some people can wave. Then the stupid bird flies first and waves ten more times. When people go shopping, I do exercises, when people sleep, I read, when people slowly taste tea, when I drink a cup of cold water, when people walk, I run, I can always find a lot of time to work several times more than others. In fact, we are far from fully developing the working ability of the human brain. As long as we use and adjust the brain regions properly, we can give more play to our energy. Sometimes, after a few years of political criticism, I was unable to write for an hour in a row. My neighbors know that there is always a light in my window. Some comrades know that I have had little sleep for many years. It's all my stupid way of life. I know that I have no talent, but I am diligent, so I give up smoking, drinking and tea, change the area (brain nerve) for rest, and run for exercise. I believe that only hard work can make up for people's differences in talent, accelerate social progress and improve our material and spiritual poverty. And diligence doesn't need to seek and beg, it's everyone's right. I often think that emphasizing that others are geniuses may be an excuse for being lazy. One can have ten, ten can have one hundred, have ambition and diligence, few things fail. During the war, in order to learn music theory, comrade Marco copied thousands of pages from books. In order to learn composition, he translated European symphonies and festivals into simplified scores for analysis (at that time, he was not familiar with the staff). Didn't he also write such good works as "Northern Shaanxi Suite", "self hair girl", "Xiao erhei's marriage"? He gets more working time than others from diligence. We all have systems
