Character experience
Guan Xuezeng was a 14-year-old student of Arts, and he learned to sing single organ and big drum with Chang Deshan as his teacher. Participated in the formation of Beijing quyi troupe and Beijing Quju troupe, and actively edited and performed new repertoire. During the cooperation with Wu Changbao, the pianist, he successfully improved the single drum and renamed it Beijing Qinshu. Yang Bajie's spring outing, whipping Luhua and Changshou village are his repertoire. He has created more than 100 pieces of works, sung thousands of pieces and performed nearly 20000 performances. He has performed in North Korea twice. He left his footprints and voice in the front line of resisting US aggression and Aiding North Korea and in the cat's ear hole of self-defense and counterattack. In 1996, he participated in the campus activities of Quyi and participated in dozens of performances. He has published the CD of Guan Xuezeng's Beijing Qinshu classic aria. It has the reputation of being a master of Qinshu in Beijing. Enjoy special government allowance. In 2000, China quyi Association awarded the title of "quyi artist who has made special contribution to quyi in 50 years of new China". In 2003, he won the fourth China Gold Record Award. In September 2006, he won the lifelong achievement award of Chinese Quyi.
Mr. Guan Xuezeng has been an artist for more than 60 years. He has performed thousands of pieces and performed nearly 20000 times. His works are rich in themes and classic works. He has made great achievements in art. His voice is loud and broad, his performance is both vivid and graceful, his singing is beautiful, his plate is sonorous and forceful, and he has his own family in singing, which is unforgettable.
He was born in Beijing on August 1, 1922. His grandfather's family was already in decline, and he could not eat dumplings during the Spring Festival. He once sold tofu, but in order to make a living. He studied art at the age of 13, performed on stage at the age of 14, and did everything to catch up with temple fairs, stand at stalls, and go on the radio. The old artists call singing on the Overpass "flat ground picking cake", which means that with the artist's two pieces of mouth, with the effort of singing, they can earn a mouthful of food and "pick out" what they eat. During the hard training, Guan Xuezeng's calligraphy gradually formed a natural and simple style of "speaking like singing, singing like speaking", and soon had a number of old audiences. When he was in his 20s, the audience sent him a plaque with the words "Qin Shu Tai Dou".
Guan Xuezeng was born to sing Qin Shu. He has never left the drum and dulcimer since he started his career. According to some statistics, he has sung more than 1000 pieces in the past decades, of which more than 220 pieces were written by himself. He carefully studied and developed the monotonous "five tone drum" and "single piano drum". After a long time, he saw countless Qin books all over the country, which have local characteristics. Since I sing Beijing tune, pure "Beijing specialty", why not call it "Beijing Qinshu"? Therefore, in a performance of Qianmen Jianlou in Beijing, Guan Xuezeng officially played the title of "Beijing Qinshu". More than 40 years later, he wrote in his book, "I think the road is right. Without the original name change, there would be no development today. " "If you compare the aria of" Beijing Qin Shu "with what my master taught me in those days, there is no way to compare it."
Guan Xuezeng and Lao She are friends. Once, Lao she saw the performance and gave advice to the quyi troupe: "don't mix all kinds of music into one pile, and make miscellaneous plays. They sing with quyi, and the type of opera is called quyi opera. " Later, "quyi opera" was named "Beijing Quju", and Guan Xuezeng took part in the earliest operas: "liushujing", "Guangming Avenue", "luohanqian" and so on. After the reform and opening up, "teahouse", "Longxugou" and other famous dramas also moved to the stage of Qu opera.
Guan Xuezeng was modest but meticulous in art. No matter how hard the performance conditions are, he is never picky and sings on the drums. On the battlefield, in the construction site and in the field, there are his optimistic and hearty songs. He worked in Beijing quyi Troupe for 40 years and made a rule for himself: where to go, where to write and where to sing. As he grew older and suffered from the "Cultural Revolution", he was in poor health. With a pile of fake notes written by doctors in his pocket, he was still talking and laughing on stage. His wife advised him to have a rest, he said: "I've lost a lot of time!" After retirement, he still insists on creating and performing. As long as the audience likes to listen to him, he will sing to the satisfaction of the audience regardless of remuneration and conditions. Lao She's teahouse just opened. He asked his old friends in the field of Quyi to perform: "we sing here and perform here. That is to let the national culture occupy the stage and do something to promote the national culture. Is that right?"
In 1988, Guan Xuezeng was elected president of Beijing quyijia Association. In the next 10 years, he contacted many parties, actively went to the countryside, organized activities such as "three visits to the countryside" of literature and art, and "entering the campus" of Quyi, and devoted himself to the prosperity and development of Quyi. In Peking University and Tsinghua University, his performance aroused great enthusiasm of college students. When some foreign guests arrived in Beijing, they also asked to listen to his Beijing Qin Shu. In 1994, the State Council awarded Guan Xuezeng "allowance for experts with special contributions".
Since the reform and opening up, the pace of life has accelerated. Guan Xuezeng has strengthened his research on small sections and put forward the concept of "five minute art". Many of his short passages are talked about by the audience, and his work "longevity village" has also been selected into the middle school textbook. Li Jindou, a crosstalk actor, said: "Guan is always the one who keeps pace with the times in the field of Quyi."
