Behind the scenes
Talking about the past, Miss Yu did not shy away from the hardships when she first arrived in Australia, which many new Chinese immigrants have encountered. She worked as a cleaner and kitchen helper in a nursing home and a clerk in a sandwich shop. It was during this period that she passed the language barrier and was admitted to the school of music of the University of Sydney, majoring in opera performance, and went to the National Opera Research Center for further study. After graduation, Miss Yu has played the leading role and supporting role in many musicals and operas. She has worked with many symphony orchestras as a soprano soloist. She often performs and competes in western countries. Now she is a lifelong artist in the Australian Opera House. "The reputation of singing is very important. I often perform for others. When they are ill, you have to help them. I don't care about more money or less, but I can't put on airs. " Yu Shuqin said: "since I came to Australia, I've been reciting music scores. I'm a fast learner and have a strong ability to read music scores. Therefore, when I perform for others, I can pick up music scores and sing them." "In November this year, I will start recording my second CD, which will be published in March next year. The collection mainly includes classic songs from China's May 4th Movement and the Anti Japanese War, including Songhua River, pastoral, spring, and Taiwan folk song homesickness. " Yu Shuqin said: "the song" on the Songhua River "was chosen not only because of its musical beauty, but also because Chinese people can't forget that period of history." She sang "on the Songhua River" and "Why are the flowers so red" for the reporters. The sound quality is just like what Sydney Chinese media said: "clear as a stream, sweet as spring, and idyllic breeze, soothing the hearts of overseas tourists." The local mainstream media's evaluation of Yu Shuqin is as follows: "the angelic clear, high pitched voice, every sound and every word are crystal clear. People can't help cheering for the slim and beautiful Chinese singer's singing."
