Jia Pengfang, born in April 1958 in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, is an erhu player, a member of Chinese Musicians Association and Japanese Oriental Music Association. He joined the Central National Orchestra in 1978. Since 1979, he has been an erhu soloist of the troupe, and since 1984, he has been the deputy chief of the National Orchestra of the troupe.
Since 1980, he has recorded many erhu solos for Beijing People's radio, China Central People's Radio and China Radio International. Influenced by his elder brother, he began to learn erhu at the age of 8. In order to pursue higher artistic attainments, he studied in Japan in 1988. He studied in the College of Tokyo University of Arts, the highest institution of art in Japan, and obtained a master's degree. After traveling in Japan, I'm glad to meet Mr. Tokuji Obuchi, a famous Japanese composer and President of the association of Japanese composers and composers. In his concert, he was specially appointed as a permanent soloist and traveled to Japan and around the world. In 1997, he established his unshakable position as a world-class performer by performing with the New York modern orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Jia Pengfang was born in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province. In 1966, when the Cultural Revolution began, he got an erhu when he was eight years old. Jiamusi, a small northern city near the border of the Soviet Union, which took 30 hours by train from Beijing, was also inevitably affected by the storm of the cultural revolution. In fact, the erhu he got was also due to his participation in the "Mao Zedong thought propaganda team". When he was 16 years old, he went to Beijing to learn art with the help of his friends. At that time, China could not change its Hukou at will, and people from rural areas could not live in cities. When she was 16 to 18 years old, Jia Pengfang made a one meter square enclosure on her aunt's balcony without food ration, aiming at becoming a professional performer and practicing every day. Finally, with his strength, he can play instead of the teacher from time to time. However, on the day of the entrance examination of Haizheng song and dance troupe, the Tangshan earthquake broke out, and the examination was suspended, so we had to give up joining the troupe. Six months later, because of the Cultural Revolution policy, he had to go back to Jiamusi to work as a farmer. After the cultural revolution, he received a letter. It turned out that his former teacher gave him the advice to go to the music university. Just when he went to Beijing again to break through the difficulty of 1 out of 500, an examiner, concertmaster of China Central National Orchestra, urged him to join the group. Considering that he could get a hukou in Beijing and the guarantee of his life, he agreed to participate in the orchestra activities as a professional performer.
1988 - turning point of life
Jia Pengfang, who has been appointed as the deputy chief of the orchestra, insists on performing activities in order to explore the folk music and artistic enlightenment destroyed by the cultural revolution. In order to pursue new artistic possibilities, he came to Japan with a suitcase and an erhu. when he was looking for a job as a performer while doing all kinds of short jobs, he had a turn for the better - he met Kejiu, the musician's clothing department. Convinced by Jia Pengfang's talent and erhu's timbre, Fu Kejiu boldly used Jia Pengfang in his album production and concert activities, opening up Jia Pengfang's music world. At that time, the wish to enter the College of Tokyo University of the arts also came true.
1997: a new artistic life
His ensemble with the orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York established his unshakable position as an erhu player. in addition, the attempt and high quality of the integration of Western musical instruments and Chinese national musical instruments in river river, the first work of peace month brand in June 1998, has been highly appraised at home and abroad, and the sales have also been successful. in 1999, rainbow, an album that further promoted this concept, was more successful than the previous one.
