Shu Ning, born in October 1948, male, Han nationality, native to Anhui Province. Professor of School of Remote Sensing Information Engineering, Wuhan University, doctoral supervisor, director of Department of photogrammetry and remote sensing, senior member of China Society of Surveying and mapping, vice chairman of photogrammetry and remote sensing Professional Committee of China Society of Surveying and mapping, member of Journal of Wuhan University (Information Science Edition), Journal of Surveying and mapping and committee of land and resources remote sensing. Engaged in remote sensing, photogrammetry, image processing and recognition, image understanding and other aspects of teaching, scientific research.
Shu Ning worked in Jingshan County of Hubei Province from 1968 to 1974 and graduated from central China Normal University in 1977

From 1977 to 1980, he worked as a mathematics teacher in the Second Affiliated Middle School of central China Normal University. After receiving a master's degree in aerial photogrammetry from the aerial survey department of Wuhan Institute of Surveying and mapping in 1980, he has been teaching in Wuhan University of Surveying and mapping since then.
From 1984 to 1985, he visited the French space research center and the French National Institute of geography for further study. In 1992, he visited the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. In 1993, he won the first prize of excellent teaching achievements of national universities. Since 1993, he has enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council government. He was once rated as an advanced scientific and technological worker in the eighth five year plan of the National Bureau of Surveying and mapping. In 2004, he was rated as the scientific and technological elite of Hubei Province.

Main contributions
He edited and published principles of radar remote sensing (Surveying and Mapping Press, 1997), principles of microwave remote sensing (Wuhan University Press, 2003), theories and methods of pattern recognition (Wuhan University Press, 2004), and laser imaging (Wuhan University Press, 2005). He has published more than 90 papers on "edge extraction of multispectral images and density analysis of super multidimensional spectral space" in important academic journals and conferences at home and abroad.

As a major member of the "remote sensing series course construction" won the first prize of excellent teaching achievements in 1993.
