Lang Lang, born on June 14, 1982 in Shenhe District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is a Chinese pianist and UN peace envoy. He graduated from Curtis Conservatory of music.
In December 1997, Lang Lang signed a contract with img agency and started his professional performance career. In August 1999, he took part in the star concert of "Lavinia Music Festival" in Chicago, USA, and performed as a substitute. Early experience
Lang Lang was born in a family full of music atmosphere in Shenhe District (formerly Dadong District), Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Under the influence of family environment, Lang Lang had a strong interest in music at a very young age. When Lang Lang was two and a half years old, he was attracted by the Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 played by Tom cat in the cartoon cat and mouse, so he had a strong interest in the piano player's fingers, and played the basic melody on the home-made vertical piano without any teacher, from which his father Lang Guoren began to enlighten him.
When Lang Lang was 3 years old, he formally studied piano under Professor Zhu Yafen of Shenyang Conservatory of music. When he was 5 years old, he took part in the children's piano competition of the three eastern provinces for the first time and won the first prize. After the competition, he held his first solo recital. In 1989, at the age of 7, Lang Lang took part in the first Shenyang children's Piano Competition and won the first prize again. In 1991, Lang Lang stood out from more than 3000 candidates. He won the first place in the Piano Department of the primary school attached to the Central Conservatory of music and studied with Zhao Pingguo. In November 1993, Lang Lang took part in the fifth "Xinghai Cup" National Children's Piano Competition and won the first place in the second group.
