Dong Zhujun is one of the founders of Jinjiang hotel. The first chairman of Jinjiang hotel is Dong Zhujun, who is known as "China's Axin". Dong Zhujun was born in a poor family. Forced by his life, he became a singing girl in a brothel. Later, he got to know the revolutionaries, jumped out of the fire, and became the governor's wife. Because he could not bear the abuse of his husband's power, he resolutely abandoned his glory and wealth, and set up Jinjiang. He worked hard to expand his business, and gradually became known to his peers at home and abroad.

Dong Zhujun was born on the fifth day of the first lunar month in the 26th year of Guangxu (1900 AD), and his parents named him "a yuan". 35 years later, she became the famous female boss of Jinjiang. Dong Zhujun's father, Dong Tongqing, is a rickshaw puller. His mother, Li's, works as a servant for a wealthy family called "Auntie" in Shanghai. When Dong Zhujun was 13 years old, he made a living as a singer in Tangzi, known as Qinghefang, for three years. Not long after, Dong Zhujun met Xia Zhishi, a member of the revolutionary party. Xia Zhishi advised her to read more books and newspapers, care about state affairs, and deeply sympathized with her sad life experience. Shortly after his marriage to xiazhishi, Dong Zhujun accompanied his husband and several revolutionary party comrades to Japan. After five years of separation, he formally agreed to divorce in 1929.

After the divorce, she rented a single room, one floor and three floors on Hualu standard road (now Ninghai West Road) near the big world in the city center, and founded Dong Zhujun Sichuan restaurant. There is not only a wide road but also a large open space beside the Sichuan restaurant. This is her unique vision in choosing the address. The wide road and open space are convenient for cars to travel and stay, and are conducive to attracting customers from the rich class. She used the ground floor as a store for selling public food, while the second and third floors were divided into large and small rooms as elegant seats. The location of the kitchen is also different from that of other restaurants. It is not placed on the ground floor, but on the sun terrace on the roof, so as to avoid the pollution of air caused by oil fumes and affect the appetite of customers. As for the name of the shop, Dong Zhujun chose the word "Jinjiang" and chose bamboo leaf as the shop emblem, which reflects the name of "Zhujun" and has far-reaching significance.

On March 15, 1935, "Jinjiang snack" officially opened. All kinds of people, not only to taste the new Sichuan cuisine of "Jinjiang", but also to admire Dong Zhujun, who is a strange woman, called friends and friends to come in droves. Dong Zhujun said with a happy mood: "Jinjiang business is very auspicious!" "Jinjiang" is full and crowded day after day. Every seat has to receive several groups of guests, and its business is booming. With the help of Du Yuesheng, a scholar, Jinjiang has expanded several times at a time, and can accommodate 300 diners at the same time. Dong Zhujun changed Jinjiang small meal into Jinjiang Sichuan restaurant.

On the basis of inheriting the Sichuan cuisine tradition of "one dish with one flavor and one hundred dishes with one flavor", Dong Zhujun changed the emphasis on spicy food to light spicy food, strictly controlled the harmony of color, aroma and taste, and combined the advantages of officialdom banquet and folk banquet. The improved Sichuan cuisine not only keeps the traditional characteristics, but also suits the tastes of the guests from the north and the south, East and West in Shanghai. Many diners only know how spicy Sichuan cuisine is. They shake their heads and taste "Jinjiang" cuisine. They realize that it's a little spicy, delicious and appetizing, so they like it. Those rich and noble people who are used to the local cuisine, Guangdong cuisine and Fujian cuisine regard Jinjiang as another good place to eat. Judging by diners and public opinion: good food is not the appeal of Jinjiang. The elegant layout and interesting design of Jinjiang are the main reasons to attract customers.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the leaders of the Central Committee came to Shanghai for inspection, and foreign guests came to visit. At that time, there were hidden spies inside, enemy planes outside, and social order was very unstable. Accordingly, the municipal government plans to establish a hotel level safety reception organization. In March 1951, pan Hannian, vice mayor, and Yang Fan, director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, appointed two comrades to meet Dong Zhujun. They said clearly that the municipal government planned to set up accommodation for senior cadres and foreign guests in Shanghai. They thought that Jinjiang was famous both at home and abroad. It was agreed that all the equipment and staff of Jinjiang Sichuan restaurant and Jinjiang teahouse will be moved to Huamao apartment at 189 Changle Road (now 175 Changle Road); all the assets will be sold by the government for 300 million yuan (old currency); the new hotel will continue to use the "Jinjiang" brand, named "Jinjiang Hotel", and the shop emblem will still be Zhuye; Dong Zhujun will be the chairman of Jinjiang hotel. On June 9, 1951, Jinjiang hotel was officially established, and the first state guesthouse in New China was born.

After liberation, Ms. Dong Zhujun was re elected as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) for the seventh term, and can be regarded as a pioneer of the feminist movement. On December 6, 1997, he died of illness in Beijing at the age of 97.

First reception

Since April 2, 1951, when Jinjiang Hotel began to take over (Chinachem apartment), it has clearly undertaken to complete the "political task". It is very meaningful to recall the first reception.

1、 The first team reception task: on May 23, 1951, the team received 25 scholars from the World Federation of scholars, which was the first team (political) reception task of Jinjiang hotel. The team stayed in Jinjiang hotel for 7 days.

2、 First reception of foreign friends: Jinjiang Hotel received foreign friends (non team) for the first time on June 12, 1951. It received Korean dance expert Cui Chengxi. This is also the first foreign friend that Jinjiang Hotel received as a political mission after its official opening. Cui Chengxi stayed in Jinjiang hotel for 12 days. Cui Chengxi once served as the head teacher of Wuyan class of Central Academy of drama. Guo Moruo once said that Cui Chengxi is a volunteer force in China on the artistic front. It's not easy for a foreigner to love and understand Chinese dance art so much and devote himself to it.

3、 First reception of foreign heads of state: on October 8, 1952, he received a delegation led by you zedenbar, general secretary of the Mongolian People's revolutionary party and Prime Minister of the government of the people's Republic of Mongolia. In September 1952, zedenbar visited China. This is the first foreign head of state to set foot on China's territory after the founding of the people's Republic of China. The delegation arrived in Shanghai on October 8 and the dinner was arranged in Jinjiang hotel. Jinjiang hotel is in charge of the banquet. There are 5 tables in total.

4、 Reception of foreign heads of state for the first time: Nehru was the first political head of a capitalist country to visit China, and also the first foreign political head to be received by new China. On October 19, 1954, Nehru, as prime minister and foreign minister of India, visited China with his daughter, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, and visited Shaanxi for the first time. In order to welcome this "old friend", Mao Zedong broke the diplomatic Convention and received him warmly. According to Indian historical materials, when Nehru took a convertible car from the airport to the hotel, he was welcomed by 1 million people along the way. During his stay in Beijing, Nehru spent more time talking with Mao Zedong than he did with Zhou Enlai. What's most moving is that when Mao Zedong and Nehru said goodbye in Zhongnanhai, they not only took the latter to the car, but also recited the poem of Qu Yuan in a complicated mood: "be sad, be sad, be separated, be happy, be acquainted with each other", which left a strange passage in the diplomatic history of China and India. On October 28, Nehru stayed in Jinjiang hotel. On that day, he and his daughter, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, attended the kindergarten and children's palace of China welfare society. In the evening, the Shanghai Municipal People's government held a party at the Shanghai Art Theater to welcome Nehru and others to watch "the garden of the motherland" performed by the children's theater of China welfare society. Nehru repeatedly praised the arrangement and service of Jinjiang Hotel: I can't imagine that when I arrived in Shanghai, I forgot to be in the Communist country. Shanghai Jinjiang hotel has been rated as a four-star hotel for 10 years since 1990.
