Introduction to Tibetan folk song (Tibetan horse racing tune)
Applicant: Mianning County, Sichuan Province
"Chuamadiao" of Mianning Tibetan is a part of the "chuamadiao" spread on the yak ancient road in the Anning River Valley and the tea horse ancient road in Southwest Yunnan.
Mianning is located on the ancient yak road of the ancient "South Silk Road". In history, Mianning was once a place with Tibetans as the main body. The Tibetan ancestors of Mianning can be traced back to the ancient Qiang tribes, such as white wolf and yak, which lived in Western Sichuan in the Han Dynasty. In its "driving horse tune", the tone of "wuhuhu" and "youkuama" still retains the tone characteristics of northwest and Western Sichuan Tibetans. Its music has strong national and local characteristics, high pitched long, free rhythm, mainly five tone mode, there are also six tones. "Wu Hu Hu" and "Ou" decorate the head and tail. The content of the lyrics is concentrated, mainly reflecting the life, thoughts, emotions and wishes of horse drivers. Such as "flying flax kite in the sky, walking horse's feet on the ground", "piggy horse's bell ring, happy to sing", "for a long time not to come here, this road collapsed into rock" and so on.
The main features of the tune are as follows: the content has the distinctiveness of the people's life as the main body, the diversity of music language and style, and the richness of the unique flavor of life. Its important value is the historical witness of the South Silk Road, from which we can see the social life, folk customs, and meaningful artistic charm of the "ancient road".
