Applicant: Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Polysyllabic folk songs refer to folk songs with polysyllabic structure. Chinese polysyllabic folk songs are mainly concentrated in more than ten ethnic minorities, such as Zhuang, Dong, Buyi, Gaoshan, Maonan, Jiajia, Miao and Yi. Most of them adopt two part form, and a few are three part and four part art.
The Butterfly Song of Yao nationality with a long history is a typical folk song of the Yao nationality in Fuchuan. It was formed in the Ming Dynasty and mainly spread in Baisha Town, Lianshan Town, liujiaxiang Town, Gucheng town and other places in Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Butterfly Song is sung in Wuzhou dialect of Chinese dialect. The main content of the song is love song. Because the words "butterfly of butterfly" often appear in the words of the song, it is named "Butterfly Song". This kind of song is sung in the form of two men or two women's simultaneous duets, starting and ending at the same time. It can be divided into short Butterfly Song and long Butterfly Song. Short Butterfly Song generally has four sentences. The first, second and fourth sentences are all seven words, and the last word rhymes. The third sentence often adds lining words and sentences. Long Butterfly Song, also known as "Song Mother", is often used by folk singers to exercise breath, tongue and voice. It is developed from short Butterfly Song, and the third sentence of each song can be lengthened by the singer to form a long stack Sentence, also known as "double butterfly song.".
Butterfly Song is a pentatonic mode, in which Gong, Zheng, Shang and Yu tunes are used frequently. The word "de" is often used, almost every word must be used, which makes the song warm and lively. This is very rare in Chinese Yao folk songs. The harmony interval has the unique characteristics of the music art of the Yao nationality in Fuchuan, which is mainly composed of the big and small third degree, but it often appears the big and second degree interval with a long time value, and then solves to the same degree. There are many representative works of butterfly songs, such as "lovers go to the sea, I go to the sea", "running water cheers to welcome guests" and so on.
The structure of butterfly singing part of Yao nationality is rigorous, and the melody is cheerful and beautiful. Its appearance indicates that Chinese folk multi part music has developed to a considerable level, which has important artistic appreciation and research value. It can be said that the butterfly song is a symbol of the multi-source Yao culture, with precious historical and cultural value. At present, with the desalination of traditional folk festival culture, the opportunities of singing butterfly songs are decreasing day by day. In addition, some excellent folk singers are old, and there is no successor for Yao people to sing butterfly songs, which is in urgent need of protection and inheritance.
