Brief introduction of traditional Chinese medicine bone setting therapy (Palace bone setting)
Applicant: Beijing huguosi Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine
Chinese orthopedic therapy is also known as "traumatology" or "orthopedics". In ancient agricultural society, the incidence rate of bone injuries was very high, which was a common disease and frequently occurring disease. At that time, the medical conditions were very poor, and the traffic in the rural villages was blocked. Once fracture occurred, it was very difficult to find treatment. Therefore, the real knowledge was needed and the talents were needed. There were almost one or two local doctors and local methods to cure bone injuries in some large villages and towns. It is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine therapy with wide distribution and various schools in China.
The characteristics of bone setting therapy of traditional Chinese medicine are shown in three aspects. The first is the unique understanding of bone physiology and bone injury pathology according to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the second is the wonderful use of manipulation, and the third is the characteristics of drugs. These three points often form a unique therapy and a famous school. With the development of society and the deepening of academic exchanges, traditional Chinese orthopedic therapy has a tendency of convergence, but some famous traumatology experts and famous traumatology schools still have regional characteristics, manipulation characteristics and medication characteristics. Compared with Western orthopedic therapy, Chinese orthopedic therapy still has its unique advantages.
Based on the orthopedics department of chuoban division of Shangsi hospital in Qing Dynasty, the palace orthopedic treatment system is a pure Chinese medicine treatment system, which is mainly based on manual treatment, supplemented by traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine equipment for orthopedic diseases such as traumatic injuries. Through the continuous inheritance and development of the Royal doctors and modern doctors in the Five Dynasties, a unique academic school was formed.
The main characteristics of bone setting in the palace are "the machine touches the outside, skillfully comes from the inside, the hand turns at will, and the method comes out from the hand". The application of the method, heavy but not stagnant, light but not floating, "so that patients do not know their suffering, known as manipulation.". In the treatment of fracture, the palace Orthopedic manipulation emphasizes the treatment idea of "upright, whole, connected and solid"; in the treatment of tendon injury, the main characteristics are "light, soft, transparent and skillful".
The objects used in the imperial orthopedic system are divided into oral Chinese medicine (such as Dieda zijindan, Jiangu Zhitong pill, etc.), external Chinese medicine (such as orthopedic medicine, Dieda WANYING ointment, etc.) and external instruments (such as Yuanshu Paizi).
Professor Wu Dinghuan, the fifth descendant of Xia Xi, the imperial physician in the late Qing Dynasty, and Professor Wu Dinghuan of huguosi Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to Beijing University of traditional Chinese medicine, inherited and carried forward the academic thought and cultural essence of bone setting in the palace, and widely combined with clinical practice, achieved good clinical efficacy and social benefits. In order to make this traditional Chinese medicine therapy break through the single line and thin family inheritance chain and carry forward, it must be protected.
