A brief introduction to Zhongshan salt water song:
Applicant: Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province
Salt water song, also known as salt water sigh, brother sigh and sister sigh, is a form of singing for family members to entertain themselves. People in Tanzhou town, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province have always been engaged in the custom of singing to each other when they are engaged in agricultural labor or sailing. Especially in the process of marriage and funeral, they often feel the scene and sing along with the choreography. The main categories of Zhongshan salt water songs include long and short sentence salt water songs, Gaotang songs, Dazhuang songs, Gumei songs and tanjiajie songs.
Salt water song is a kind of oral cultural expression widely sung by the family. Since ancient times, family members have come to the alluvial plain along the coast of the Pearl River Estuary from all directions, scattered in Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Shunde and other coastal areas and river networks. Salt water song has the longest history in Tanzhou, Zhongshan. It is widely spread and has rich repertoire. Up to now, it still retains the traditional singing methods, such as singing in Zhongshan dialect of Guangdong dialect, lining words with "ah le" and "ah", lining sentences with "Mei Hao ah le" and "Di Hao ah le". The improvisation of singing is very strong, and the tone is sought with the words. Its representative repertoire includes "Duihua", "easy sea pearl" and so on.
At present, only 10 people can sing traditional salt water songs, and most of them are old. The influx of foreign culture and the change of cultural consciousness and value orientation of the younger generation have greatly changed the ecological environment of saltwater songs. The investigation shows that most of the local people do not know what saltwater songs are, and the endangered status of saltwater songs can be imagined.
