Introduction to Huangzhong Dui embroidery
Applicant: Huangzhong County, Qinghai Province
Huangzhong Dui embroidery is a popular folk embroidery art in Huangzhong County, Qinghai Province. It is mainly distributed in Tianjiazhai, Duoba and other towns. Dui embroidery in Huangzhong is the result of the integration of Han and Tibetan cultures. Its history can be traced back to the period when Princess Wencheng came to Tibet in the Tang Dynasty. At that time, Princess Wencheng brought silk and embroidery from the Central Plains to Tubo, and then all kinds of embroidery techniques gradually spread to the Qinghai Tibet region. Dui embroidery in Huangzhong was formed and developed under this background. During the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, dui embroidery in Huangzhong entered its heyday and began to decline in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. In the early years of the Republic of China, the second Jiaya canbulaosangdajie vigorously promoted the art of pile embroidery, making it reappear the trend of rejuvenation, which has been passed down to the present day among monks and folk artists. There is a saying in Huangzhong that "if you can do needlework, you can do pile embroidery", which shows that pile embroidery art has a broad mass base in the local area. Dui embroidery in Huangzhong is mainly about Tibetan Buddhism. It is mainly used to make Thangka by cutting and piling. Dui embroidery, a treasure of Tibetan Buddhist art, is one of the "three wonders" of the art of Ta'er temple in Huangzhong County. Dui embroidery in Huangzhong perfectly combines embroidery with relief art. It is rough and delicate, simple and beautiful, showing moving national characteristics and strong artistic appeal.
