Brief introduction to the legend of Animaqing snow mountain
Applicant: Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province
Animaqing snow mountain, known as "maqinggangri" in Tibetan, is a branch of Kunlun mountain with an altitude of 6282 meters. It is located in the northwest of Maqin County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The snow mountain is majestic and majestic, the ice peak is majestic, and the mountain scenery is magnificent. In the eyes of Tibetans, Animaqing snow mountain is one of the 21 sacred snow mountains in the snow covered Tibetan area. It is one of the nine sacred mountains in the world (one of the nine pioneering gods). It is also the Soul Mountain of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the God of Dharma protection in the snow covered Tibetan area and the spirit God of King Gesar. The literal meaning of "Animaqing" is "the ancestor god of Dama".
The main content of the myth of Animaqing is to personify the mountain and appear as a hero to benefit the people, eliminate evil and do good. As a mountain god in the Yellow River Basin, Maqing Mountain God has a huge kingdom of gods and powerful military groups. Just like a secular ruler, Maqing Mountain God is the highest head of the Kingdom, known as king and chief. He also has princesses, princesses, princesses, ministers, generals and countless soldiers. He is mainly responsible for the life and death of the people in the northeast of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and all the mountain gods and ghosts in the northeast of the plateau, protecting the safety of the people. According to legend, the mountain god of Animaqing wears a red tassel hat and silver armor, riding on a jade dragon and white horse, holding a spear in his right hand and a flag in his left hand, hanging a sword around his waist and bowing and arrows. During the day, they patrol the void and the human world, carry out cloud and rain, cast thunder and lightning, either bring good luck or disaster, reward and punish people and gods, and monitor the enemy.
The origin of Animaqing myth is quite ancient. According to the records in the book of Kadang, the record of the king of Tibet and the Dunhuang historical documents of Tubo, from the rise of the first generation of Tibetan king Nie chizanpu's Bon religion, Animaqing was called "manianbore", which endowed with the color of God. That is to say, the rise of Bon religion was the origin of Animaqing's myth and legend.
Shenshan is rich in Tibetan culture and has rich cultural and artistic value. The influence of Animaqing snow mountain depends on the spread of its mythology and religious worship, which spreads all over the Tibetan areas, Australia, the United States, India, Italy and other countries. From May to September every year, believers from all over the world flock to the holy mountain for worship.
