Shangdang Erhuang, also known as "Shangdang leather spring", is commonly known as "tuerhuang". As a kind of voice formed in the south, how it was introduced into Shangdang area is hard to find out. From the stage inscriptions in the middle and early Qing Dynasty, we can see that it has been spread in Shangdang area for more than 200 years. Shangdang Erhuang's singing style can be divided into xipi and Erhuang, including anti Erhuang. It is generally called "pihuang", which belongs to banqiang. Xipi has a high pitched and mellow voice, which is often used to express feelings. It is often used by Sheng and Dan. The Erhuang style is less, but it is euphemistic and elegant. In addition, there is a "flat two spring", which has been lost. Shangdang Erhuang's martial arts percussion music includes drum, board, alto Gong, steel fork and high-key small Gong; the main musical instrument of Wenchang is Jinghu, and the supporting musical instrument is jingerhu. Shangdang Erhuang's performance is elegant, simple, delicate and realistic. It is deeply loved by the local people and is often performed in entertainment events and worship. There are more than 100 traditional plays, such as Da Jin Zhi, Gua long Deng, Qu Xi Chuan, Wu Zhang Yuan, Qing He Qiao, er Jin Gong, nu Qi Jie, she Tang Guan and Yu Tang Chun, among which 30 are from the Three Kingdoms.

Shangdang Erhuang was one of the five tunes of Shangdang Bangzi, which played an important role in meeting the local people's cultural entertainment and spreading traditional culture. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it became an independent drama, and established a professional Erhuang troupe in Jincheng city. Since the 1980s, the drama market has been stagnant, the number of performances has been decreasing year by year, the life of artists has not been guaranteed, there are no successors, and the inheritance is difficult, so it is in urgent need of national support and protection.
