Introduction to Luojuan Opera
Applicant: Fan County, Henan Province
Luojuan opera, commonly known as "trumpet opera", is a combination of "Luoxi" and "Quanxi".
Luo opera entered Runan in the early Qing Dynasty, and its music consists of three parts: singing music, wind music and percussion music. Singing music is a comprehensive music system, in which the Qupai style and banqiang style coexist; playing music is mainly played by suona, which is commonly known as "big Flute"; percussion music is divided by five small pieces of gongs, two gongs, hand cymbals, Bangzi and Guban, which are commonly used by ordinary Opera bands, and is also equipped with two pairs of big cymbals and two pairs of big cymbals, which are commonly known as "four big fans". Luo opera, with its bold and unrestrained style and high pitched intensity, is suitable for performing mythological opera, palace opera and martial arts opera such as war.
Juan opera originated in yantingdian, Chupu and daitang villages in Runan County in the late Ming Dynasty and evolved from the "juan Diao" of temple music. Its music is composed of three parts: singing music, wind music and percussion music. The small suona, commonly known as "xiaodizi", is the main musical instrument. It mainly performs folk legends, local customs and plays about love between men and women.
In order to attract the audience and achieve the purpose of both civil and martial arts, the two operas are often performed on the same stage and gradually integrated into one. After the Republic of China, the masses in Runan area called it "Luojuan opera" or "quanluo opera" according to the custom. Luojuan opera mostly uses local dialect and Zhongzhou rhyme, and its singing melody is close to the rhythm of local folk voice, which has very distinctive local characteristics.
