The provincial association was founded on August 10, 2007. Authorized by the provincial government, the provincial association is responsible for the management, guidance, coordination and service functions of rural credit cooperatives within its jurisdiction. Hainan Rural Credit Union and 225 legal person credit cooperatives have 387 business outlets and 3085 employees. By the end of 2008, the balance of deposits was 15.862 billion yuan and the balance of loans was 9.052 billion yuan. It is distributed in 213 townships of 18 cities and counties such as Haikou and Sanya.
