Datong international, founded in 1985, is the first joint venture international freight forwarding enterprise in China. It started with air freight forwarding business. Through the cooperation with us funded FedEx and Anbang express in the mid-1990s, Datong international, with the background of state-owned assets, rose rapidly by virtue of international express business, and set foot in domestic express and logistics business in 1998.

In 1999, the company took the lead in passing the ISO9001 international standard quality system certification in the freight forwarding industry.

In 2000, it was awarded the title of national quality control excellent enterprise by the State Bureau of quality and technical supervision.

In 2001, it was named the best logistics design scheme logistics enterprise in China by China Aviation weekly;.

In 2002, the company implemented equity restructuring with Shanghai industry and realized strong alliance.

In 2004, Datong ranked the 10th, 4th and 8th in shipping business, air transportation business and comprehensive strength respectively in the relevant evaluation of China International Freight Forwarding Association. Its annual sales without audit has reached about 3 billion yuan.

2005: Kerry Logistics Network acquired 70% shares of Datong International Transportation Co., Ltd. "Kerry Datong" became a new brand of Kerry Logistics in Greater China.

In July 2005, it was rated as "5A" comprehensive service logistics enterprise by China Federation of logistics and purchasing.

In November 2005, he won the mainland logistics (non small and medium sized enterprises) Award in the first Hong Kong Logistics award selection activity jointly organized by Hong Kong Transport Logistics Association, Hong Kong Freight Logistics Association, Hong Kong Logistics Association, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

In June 2006, he was named "China's best warehousing company in 2006" at the China logistics summit and award ceremony hosted by Asia shipping logistics.

In December 2014, Kerry Logistics announced the acquisition of a 70% stake in Dubai company ablelogistics group Fzco from an independent third party at a price of US $32 million.

Development trend

Kerry Logistics has been coveting the logistics market in mainland China for many years. However, due to the vast territory and strict supervision in the past, the penetration of Kerry Logistics to the business in mainland China has not been strong. Even if the capital strength is strong, it will take quite a long time to rely on the conventional development mode of self built channels. Mr. Wang Weicheng of Kerry is really racking his brains and bothering to set up new branches everywhere and explore new ways. After the integration of Datong's business and Kerry Logistics's own operation in the mainland, Kerry Datong has become a new flagship to expand its logistics business in China.

More strategically, with the strong capital support of Kerry Logistics Network, Kerry Chase will maximize the use efficiency of facilities including warehouses, distribution centers, docks, ports and containers, and continuously create derivative and added value by using these infrastructure.

The acquisition of Datong transportation is probably the highest milestone in the development history of Kerry Logistics. After the acquisition, Kerry Logistics changed its business name in China to "Kerry Datong", while it continued to use "Kerry Logistics" as a symbol outside China, striving to become a well-known logistics brand in Asia.
