Xueyan town

Xueyan Town, located in the southeast of Changzhou, is the "South Gate" of Wujin District. It is adjacent to Mashan in Wuxi in the East, Taihu Lake in the South and Yixing in the West. It has the only 7.3km Taihu Lake coastline in Changzhou. It now governs 25 administrative villages, 4 communities, 96818 permanent residents (in 2017), covering an area of 104.38km2. Historical evolution

In the southeast of Wujin District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It covers an area of 35 square kilometers. The population is 28000. The town people's government is stationed in xueyanqiao, with a population of 2000. It was named Xueyan in Song Dynasty and Xueyan bridge in Ming Dynasty. Xueyanqiao town was established in 1949 and changed to Xueyan Township in 1955. Xinnan township was merged in 1956 and Xinzhong township was merged in 1957. The commune was changed in 1958, the township was restored in 1983, and the town was established in 1990. In 1999, Taige township was incorporated into the city. It produces rice, wheat, rapeseed, etc. Industry has agricultural machinery, chemical industry, clothing, building materials and other factories. Xiyi highway passes through here. Historic sites include Helu city site.

History and culture

With profound cultural heritage, Helu city in spring and Autumn period, Guishan academy and Nanshan Temple in Song Dynasty, former residence of Wu Zhihui and national dragon boat training base are located in the territory. Taihu Bay provincial tourism resort is located in the town, animation play Valley, Taihu Lake filial piety garden is located in the territory. In ancient times, there were Helu City, Guishan academy, Nanshan Temple and liao'e temple in the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. There are three industrial concentration areas in the town, covering an area of 11118 mu, with a total of 1225 industrial enterprises, including 101 industries above the designated size and 3 listed enterprises in total. The town is characterized by the manufacturing of chemical equipment, water conservancy equipment, ship accessories, molds and other precision machinery. The precision machinery industry accounts for about 50% of the town's industrial output value. In 2014, the total industrial output value was 17.5 billion yuan, of which 11.2 billion yuan was above the designated scale. The annual foreign trade import and export is expected to reach 197 million US dollars. The agricultural industrial structure is reasonable. The planting area, yield and output value of forest and fruit account for about 40% of the whole region. Four large-scale bases with an area of more than 1000 mu, such as Taihu Lake silverfish, Xiazhuang grape, Xiejia peach and Chengxi pear garden, are in the lead. The Taihu Bay Tourist Resort, the Nongjiale Hui folk custom street in the west of the city, the yujiale street in Taige and the Yapu tourist market have been formed. Caoqiao stone market, Xiazhuang grape market and Xueyan peach market are active.
