Shiyan Town, belonging to Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the middle of Ning'an city. It borders Wolong Korean nationality township in the East, Dongjing Town and Ning'an farm in the south, Sanling Township in the west, and langang town and Langlang town in the north. The town government is located in Shiyan village. The area is 197.13 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Shiyan Town, formerly known as "dumuhe", means "ferry" in Manchu.

After the fall of Northeast China, when the railway station was built in 1934, it was named "stone station" because of its many stones. Later, in memory of martyr Yang Shiyan (formerly known as Yang Siyan) who died in the war of liberation, the stone station was renamed Shiyan village.

After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, he was subordinate to the second autonomous region at the beginning and then to Shiyan district.

In August 1948, it was changed into the fourth district.

In May 1956, Shiyan township was set up instead of regionalized township.

In September 1958, Qinlao Township, Pingan Township and langang Township were merged into Shiyan people's commune.

In January 1961, LAN gang and other places were set up as LAN Gang commune.

In November 1962, Ping'an commune and Xinglong commune were established.

In April 1984, Shiyan town was set up.

In 2001, Ping'an township was incorporated.

Shiyan town is located in the middle of Ning'an City, in the upper reaches of Mudanjiang River between zhangguangcailing and Laoyeling in Changbai Mountains. It borders Wolong Korean nationality township in the East, Dongjingcheng town and Ning'an farm in the south, Sanling Township in the west, langang town and Langlang town in the north. The area is 197.13 square kilometers.

Shiyan town is located in Changbai Mountains zhangguangcai ridge and Changbai Mountains Laoye ridge between the slope extension of the hilly area and Pinggang area, the terrain is high in the South and low in the West. The northern half and southern half are hilly terrain, and the central and western parts are flat hilly area. The town is shuttle shaped, narrow from east to west and long from north to south. The main peaks are Pingding Mountain, TUANSHANZI mountain, Fengshui mountain, yingmen mountain, Lingdong mountain, Jiapi mountain, Huanggang mountain and Ma'anshan mountain. Pingdingshan, the highest point in the territory, is located in the east of TUANSHANZI village, with an altitude of 930.9 meters; the lowest point is located in the east of Xingfu village, with an altitude of 330 meters.
