Maoershan Town, belonging to Shangzhi City, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the west of Shangzhi City, the mountain area at the West foot of zhangguangcai mountain and the upper reaches of Ashi River. It is adjacent to WuJimi Township and Changshou Township in the East, Erhe township of Wuchang City in the south, Pingshan Town of Acheng District in the West and Heilonggong town in the north. In 2018, the area of the town of Mao er Mountain was 643.15 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 24827.

In 1936, Maoershan was designated as Zhuhe county.
In 1946, Maoer mountain area was set up.
In December 1950, it was renamed the third district of Shangzhi county.
In 1955, it was changed into Maoershan township.
In 1956, honey was bought in five villages, namely, Xibei, Bei'an, Jinde, Qingxi and Zhangdian

In 1958, Shengli township was merged into Wuxing township.
