Zhili Township
Zhili Township, subordinate to Xingtang County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Xingtang County, bordering Mucun township of Xinle City in the East, Xieshen township of Xinle City in the south, Anxiang Township in the west, Longzhou town and Duyanggang Township in the north, with an administrative area of 62.51 square kilometers.
In 1949, Zhili township was divided into two districts of Xingtang County; in 1984, it was changed into Zhili township; in 1996, lianjiazhuang township was merged into Zhili township. By the end of 2018, 44167 households registered residence in the village. As of June 2020, Zhili township has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Zhili village.
In 2018, there were 25 industrial enterprises in Zhili Township, including one above scale and 63 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1949, Zhili Township belonged to two districts of Xingtang County.
In 1953, it belonged to Pei Village and Wangying Township in the Second District of Xingtang County; in the same year, the agricultural production mutual aid group was established.
In 1954, primary agricultural production cooperatives were established.
In 1956, a senior agricultural production cooperative was established.
In 1958, Xingtang County was abolished and merged into Xinle County, which belongs to Xi'an Xiang commune and is under the management of Zhili.
In 1961, nine natural villages were separated from the east of Xi'an Xiang commune and Zhili commune was established.
In 1962, Xingtang County was restored to its original state.
In 1984, it was changed to Zhili township.
In 1996, lianjiazhuang township was incorporated.

History and culture
Zhili township was originally named Zhilei. It is said that in ancient times, there was a vast expanse of yellow sand and there was no human trace. There was a lot of wind and sand throughout the year. People built dykes to protect their houses and countryside in order to survive, so it was named Zhilei, and later it was homonym Zhili. Zhili township is named after the people's Government of Zhili village.
