Wangtai town

Wangtai Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Haicheng City, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, is located on the left bank of the lower reaches of Taizi River in the Songliao plain, in the northwest of Haicheng City, adjacent to Gengzhuang town by Wudao River in the East and Xisi town by Matigou in the south. It is bounded by Haicheng River and Niuzhuang town in the southwest, and faces Wenxiang town across Taizi River in the West and North, with an administrative area of 75.2 square kilometers.

In August 1945, the puppet Manchukuo regime in Wangtai area disintegrated, and Niuzhuang District democratic government was established; in October 1987, Wangtai town was established by withdrawing villages and building towns. By the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in Wang Tai town was 25832. As of June 2020, Wangtai town has 11 administrative villages.

History of construction

In August 1945, the puppet Manchu regime in Wangtai area disintegrated, and the Niuzhuang District democratic government was established.

In February 1948, Niuzhuang county was established, and the county government established Shuizhai District, which is under the jurisdiction of Wangtai district; in April of the same year, Niuzhuang county established Wangtai district government and Wangtai District Committee; in December of the same year, Niuzhuang county was abolished, and Wangtai district was under the jurisdiction of Haicheng county.

In July 1950, the Wangtai district government was transformed into the 10th District Office.

In April 1951, district 10 was abolished and Wangtai district was classified as District 9. The district office was located in Niuzhuang.

In 1956, Wangtai area was divided into three townships (Wangtai, guancao and Xingjia), still belonging to Niuzhuang district.

In October 1958, Niuzhuang commune was established, and Wangtai was the management area.

In March 1961, Wangtai commune was set up by Niuzhuang commune.

In September 1983, Wangtai township was established, which was the area where the township government was established in the first phase of Haicheng county.

In October 1987, Wangtai town was established after the township was removed.
