Gangou Township
Gangou Township, belonging to Urumqi county, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Urumqi county, adjacent to Yongfeng Township in the East, sardaban Township in the south, Changji City in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in the west, 104 regiment of the 12th agricultural division and grassland of sardaban Township in the North. The total administrative area of Gangou township is 625 square kilometers. As of 2018, the registered residence population in gall ditch township was 6701.
In 1950, Gangou township was the second township of eight districts in Dihua county. In 1956, Qianjin animal husbandry society was established. In 1958, it was the second production brigade of Dongfeng people's commune. In 1961, Dongfeng commune was divided into Yongfeng commune and Dongfeng commune. In 1981, it was renamed sardaban commune, which has jurisdiction over four brigades: Gangou, xiaoquzi, sardaban and Koizumi.
