Xinkai township is located in the northwest of Yueyang County, which is the east gate of Yueyang City. The Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, national highway 107 and provincial highway 306 cross it vertically and horizontally. Xinkaitang, the seat of the town government, is 14km away from Yueyang freight station of Beijing Guangzhou railway, 12km away from Yueyang passenger station of Wuhan Guangzhou high speed railway, 14km away from Yueyang entrance and exit of Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, and 14km away from the urban area Jiwaiyun wharf is 21 kilometers long. Yueyang No.3 bus goes directly to xinkaiji town. Communication developed, program-controlled telephone, China Mobile, China Unicom, and broadband network coverage of the town.

In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, it belonged to Shitan township. In the 18th year of the Republic of China, Xinkai town was set up, and then Mingde township was changed. In 1949, it belonged to Yueyang county 1 district. In 1958, it was the new opening brigade of Matang commune. In 1961, it was divided into the new opening commune. In 1967, Xinkai commune was abolished, and each brigade under its jurisdiction was put under the jurisdiction of Kangwang commune, Guozhen commune, Matang commune, Wujiang commune, Longwan commune and Qinggang commune. In 1968, Xinkai commune was restored, and 11 brigades under its original jurisdiction were restored. In 1982, the society was transformed into the countryside. In 1995, Xinkai Township, Longwan Township and Wuhuan Township became Xinkai township.

Economics

Following the development idea of "prospering agriculture through industry and prospering town through industry", Xinkai township has issued a series of preferential policies and protective measures. Agriculture has formed: strawberry and grape base in Madian; yellow cauliflower base in Jiulong; flower and seedling base in Xinglong, Xing'an, Xinkai and Maoli villages; Dayuan rape base; Gaolong gift watermelon base; high-quality rice breeding base in Mashan and Yongan, Longwan piece pollution-free food production base. The breeding industry is mainly pig, poultry and beef cattle, and the rising lobster breeding has developed rapidly. The industry has formed the glass products industry dominated by Yuhua glass and Liaoyuan water glass, the building materials industry dominated by xiaotiandi cement and Hongda building materials, and the chemical industry dominated by Zhongnan chemical plant and Dadi waterproof material plant. The leisure industry has been developed. Shengtian reservoir, which is under development, is 5 kilometers away from Yueyang City, with a total investment of 60 million yuan. After completion, it will integrate fishing, sightseeing, tourism and hunting, and become the first choice for summer and leisure in the city. In July 1997, the township system was abolished and a new kaitang town was built. The town has a total area of 133.4 square kilometers, including 38760 mu of cultivated land, 34882 mu of paddy field and 3878 mu of dry land. The town has 35 natural villages, two neighborhood committees, 216 work pieces, 11457 households and a total population of 37406.
