Hongmiaozi town
Hongmiaozi Town, belonging to the Hongshan District of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Hongshan District. It is adjacent to Yuanbaoshan town in Yuanbaoshan District in the East and south, Dongcheng Street in Hongshan District in the west, Yingjin River in the north and Xiajiadian town in Songshan District across the river. The area is 60.93 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 19276 people registered residence.
In February 1961, Chengjiao commune was divided into Hongmiaozi commune, Chengjiao commune and Wusan commune. On October 25, 1962, Chifeng city divided Hongmiaozi commune into Hongmiaozi commune and wangjiadian commune. On May 14, 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Hongmiaozi commune was established. In December 1983, Hongmiaozi commune was transformed into a township in Hongshan District. In August 1988, Hongmiaozi township was transformed into a town. In June 2020, Hongmiaozi town governs one community and five administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in Hongmiaozi Town, and 65 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
Before 1955, Hongmiaozi Township belonged to the third district (water area) of Chifeng county.
On January 1, 1956, Hongmiaozi Township belonged to the third district of Chifeng county.
On March 15, 1958, Chifeng County merged Hongmiaozi and wangjiadian into Hongmiaozi.
In September 1958, Hongmiaozi township was transformed into a commune, belonging to Chifeng District of Chifeng county.
In 1960, Chifeng City was divided into big townships from small townships, and Hongmiaozi, Chengjiao and Wusan communes were merged into Chengjiao communes.
In February 1961, Chengjiao commune was divided into Hongmiaozi commune, Chengjiao commune and Wusan commune.
On October 25, 1962, Chifeng city divided Hongmiaozi commune into Hongmiaozi commune and wangjiadian commune.
On May 14, 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Hongmiaozi commune was established.
On July 5, 1969, Hongmiaozi commune was transferred to Liaoning Province with Chifeng City of Zhaowuda League.
On July 1, 1979, Hongmiaozi commune was incorporated into Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region along with Chifeng City of Zhaowuda League.
In December 1983, Zhaowuda League was changed into Chifeng City. The former Chifeng City was divided into Hongshan District and Yuanbaoshan District. Hongmiaozi commune was changed into Township, belonging to Hongshan District.
In August 1988, Hongmiaozi township was transformed into a town.

In June 2020, Hongmiaozi town has one community and five administrative villages: Zhongxin street community, niehudi village, xishuidi village, langjiayingzi village, Houdao village and Dongnan yingzi village. The people's Government of Hongmiaozi town is stationed in Zhongxin street community.

The main natural disasters in Hongmiaozi town are gale, hail, drought and heavy snow. Hail disaster occurred four times a year, mainly from May to September, the most serious one occurred on June 20, 2002, the disaster covered the whole town. Due to the sudden change of climate, the hail disaster, though prevented and reduced by anti-aircraft artillery, still caused 70% reduction in the output of open vegetables and food crops, serious damage of plastic and film in greenhouse, resulting in economic loss of about 14.5 million yuan.
