During the period of the Republic of China, Chaoyang mountain was under the jurisdiction of Shuitou, Mabu in Pingyang north port and Lingxi in Nangang.
During the period of democratic revolution, Chaoyang mountain was a Soviet revolutionary base in southern Zhejiang. In the winter of 1931, the CPC southern Zhejiang Committee was established in Chenfu's hometown at lingmentou of Chaoyang mountain, and successively established Red Army guerrilla base with lingmentou and zhangzhe tomb as the center.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Chaoyang mountain was divided into two townships, Chaoyang Township and Dilong township. In 1957, the two townships were merged into Chaoyang Township, and then Chaoyang people's commune was established under the jurisdiction of Shuitou District of Pingyang County.
