Hongshi Township
Hongshi Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is located in the west of Dunhua City. It is bounded by Mudanjiang River in the East and faces Jiangnan Town across the river, Xianru town in the southeast, Jiangyuan town in the South and Hanzhang town in the West and North, with an administrative area of 108.61 square kilometers.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was forbidden to cultivate paddock; in 1983, Hongshi commune was changed to township. By the end of 2018, the population of Hongshi Township registered residence was 9338. As of June 2020, Hongshi rural has jurisdiction over one community and 12 administrative villages.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of Hongshi township was 1.744 million yuan, an increase of 8% over the previous year. The per capita net income of farmers is 7252 yuan. In 2018, Hongshi Township had 13 industrial enterprises and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction

In 1934, Hongshi Pozi village was set up, belonging to the South huangnihezi puppet police station, and Hongshi Minzi village office was set up.
In August 1945, it belonged to the fourth district (South huangnihezi District).
In 1956, Hongshi Pozi township was established.
In 1957, it was assigned to Xianru township.
In 1958, it was changed into HONGSHILAZI administrative area.
In 1962, it was changed into Hongshi commune.
In 1983, Hongshi commune was transformed into a township.

Hongshi township is located in the eastern foot of zhangguangcai mountain. It is a hilly and semi mountainous area with high terrain in the West and low terrain in the East, with an average altitude of 756 meters. In the west, there are undulating mountains, high mountains and dense forests; in the Middle East, the terrain is flat, alluvial plain and hilly area; the area is generally in the shape of "dustpan" and spreads eastward, forming a long and narrow area from east to west and from south to north. The main peaks are yaolingzi and yingbeipozi. Yaolingzi, the highest peak in the territory, is located at the junction of the western border, Hanzhang Township and Jiangyuan town, with an altitude of 1114 meters; the lowest point is located at Yixin village by the East Mudan River, with an altitude of 500 meters.

Hongshi township has a humid monsoon climate in the middle temperate zone, which varies with the altitude. Its characteristics are dry and cold in winter, short in summer, late in spring and early in autumn. The west is vulnerable to low temperature, and the freezing period is about five months.

The river course in Hongshi Township belongs to Mudanjiang River Basin, with two main rivers, Huangni River and Dashi river. The largest river in the territory is xihuangni River, which originates from Daxingchuan in the territory, flows from west to East, flows through Xianru town and then flows into Mudanjiang River. The river in the territory is about 25 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 130 square kilometers. Dashi River enters the territory from Hanzhang Township, turns to the east from north to south through Hongshi village, and flows into Mudanjiang at the east of Linjiang village.
