Jinchuan town belongs to Ningshan County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the northeast of Ningshan county. It is adjacent to Dongchuan Town, Zhen'an County, Shangluo City in the East, Yuehe Town, Zhen'an County, Shangluo City in the south, Jiangkou Town in the West and fufu town in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 14.3 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 15.8 km, with a total area of 133 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
In December 2001, the former Huangjin Township and Xiaochuan Township were merged and named after each of them.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was xiaochuanbao in Xunjiang township.
In November 1950, Huangjin Township and Xiaochuan Township were established.
In 1958, it was the golden management area of Jiangkou commune in Shiquan County.
In 1961, the golden commune was established.
In November 1962, some of them were set aside to set up Ogawa commune.
In 1984, it was renamed Huangjin Township and Xiaochuan township.
