Xinnong township is located in the east of Jinshan Bridge. In 1951, it was separated from shigu Township in Zhujing District into Xinnong township. In the 1950s, it was the base of mutual assistance and cooperation of the CPC Jinshan County Committee. In 1957, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, it was named after the Xinnong township. It is adjacent to Zhangjing River and Songyin Township in the East, wulonggang and zuoshigang in the west, Ganxiang Township and Lvxiang Township in the south, damaogang in the north and Liugang Township in Songjiang County. It is 5.5km wide from east to west and 8.8km long from south to north, covering an area of 34.60km2. There are 14 administrative villages, 184 villager groups, 6682 households and 25784 people, including Wulong, Aiguo, sanbang, shenzhuang, Wannian, Huinong, Mudan, Xingfu, changbang, Xinfan, Wenhe, Xinmin, Guanghua and santuan. The cultivated area is 34966 mu.
Before liberation
Before liberation, it belonged to Songyin town. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Zhujing, Zhangjing and Maogang districts. In 1957, Xinnong, shigu, Huinong, Wenhe and Changbo were merged into Xinnong township. SONGFENG highway runs East-West in the middle, Jinzhang highway winds south in the west, and chueshi port, Damao port and Zhangjing River can be connected with 100 ton ship barge, so the water and land transportation is convenient. Before liberation, agricultural production was backward, and the total annual grain output was around 14 million jin. In 1953, Hongxing society, the second agricultural production cooperative in the county, was born here. In the winter of 1955, it became the largest (612 households) Hongxing senior agricultural production cooperative in the county. Over the past 30 years, agricultural production has developed rapidly. In 1984, the total grain output reached 40.21 million jin, about three times the annual output before liberation. In 1985, affected by drought and flood, the agricultural production of the whole Township still achieved a good harvest, with an average grain yield of 1317 Jin / mu, a lint yield of 102 Jin / mu, and a rapeseed yield of 285 Jin / mu. industrial production started from scratch. In 1985, there were 11 Township factories and 24 village factories for hardware, knitting, clothing and electronic components. The industrial output value is 32.02 million yuan, accounting for 73.4% of the total industrial and agricultural output value of 43.6 million yuan. Jinshan sweater factory produces more than 303l kinds of woolen sweaters of various styles. It is a high-quality foreign trade product and has obtained the "pure wool Mark License" from the international wool Bureau. Some of them have won international and national quality certificates and are sold well in more than 30 countries and regions, such as Europe and America. The diamond brand galvanized iron wire produced by Xinnong iron wire factory has become a hot selling product in the Hong Kong market. It has made profits of more than one million yuan for six consecutive years. In 1986, it earned 3.25 million US dollars in foreign exchange through export. It is the factory with the largest foreign exchange earnings among township enterprises in the county. Xinnong TV component factory and Shanghai University of science and technology jointly trial produce the home-made auxiliary component of color TV - line output transformer (UYF core), which can save a lot of foreign exchange. In addition, the Jinkang Ma Mao company, which was jointly established by foreign capital, was put into operation in 1986, with an output value of 5.03 million yuan and a profit of 220000 yuan in 1987.
Outstanding achievements in family planning
Since 1981, it has been rated as an advanced unit of family planning in cities and counties for successive years. In 1983, the birth rate of population was 7.93, the natural growth rate of population was 0.46, the family planning rate was 93.7%, and the only child certification rate was 100%. In 1986, it was rated as an advanced unit of family planning in China. In 1985, the per capita income of the township was 573 yuan, and the number of farmers who built new houses accounted for 42.4% of the total number of households in the township. there is a Wulong temple in the territory, which was rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. In 1988, it was renovated and opened to the public. There are more than 400 years old Wisteria trees in front of the temple, which are county-level cultural relics protection units.

Xinnong town
Xinnong town was originally named Sanzhao site. It is said that an official lived in seclusion here in the Qing Dynasty, and the emperor issued three imperial edicts to summon him to Beijing, so it got its name. It is 4km away from Zhujing town in the West. SONGFENG highway runs through the town from east to west. Chijinggang is close to the south of the town. The water and land transportation is convenient. There was no market in Sanzhao site. In the late 1950s, it became the central market town of the township. The town is 380 meters long from east to west and 400 meters wide from north to south, with a building area of 72000 square meters. The total population is 3.3, including 690 non-agricultural population, 577 agricultural population and 2636 rural enterprise employees. In the town, there are 16 stores of various types set up by the new rural supply and marketing cooperatives, 8 collective commercial stores, 4 Township stores, 4 enterprise stores and 24 individual businesses, and there are also farmers' markets. There are 11 Township run enterprises and 2 village run enterprises. In terms of culture, education and health, there are central primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, cultural stations, auditorium (also used as a movie theater) and health centers. In 1985, it was named county health town.
Xixin town (shiguqiao West town)
Shigu bridge is a wooden bridge on the Jinghe River in Liuwan. In beitu, there is a piece of stone drum made of bluestone, which is named after it. In 1916, Shen and Gu built a house and opened a shop here, gradually forming a market. In the 1930s, there were 18 grain stores, tobacco stores, meat shops, teahouses, etc. the bull market in spring, watermelon market in summer and autumn, and firewood market in winter were very prosperous. After the Japanese invasion, the peasants did not dare to go to Zhujing, Lvxiang and other big towns. In addition, some guerrillas under the banner of Anti Japanese occupied here, which once became abnormally prosperous. In the 34th year of the Republic of China, Japan surrendered and elected representatives to the National Congress. The Kuomintang and the three youth leagues vied for power and profits. They fought here and became a scandal. After liberation, the supply and marketing cooperatives set up their sites in the neighboring Dongxin Town, and Dongxin town was relatively prosperous; after land reform, some small shop owners abandoned commercial agriculture, some were incorporated into cooperative commerce, and Xixin town gradually declined. At present, there are 1 urban resident, 18 farmers, 1 tofu shop and 1 small tea house selling tobacco and confectionery.
Dongxin town (shiguqiao East Town)
in 1917, Zhang and Shen took the lead to open a shop here, and gradually formed a market. Because of the contrast with Xixin Town, people used to call it Dongzhen. In the 13th year of the Republic of China, Sanyi primary school moved here. In the 1930s, there were more than ten firms. Chen's ships from Shaoxing travel to Zhujing every day. In 1951, Zhujing supply and Marketing Cooperative set up a commercial site here. In 1985, there were 15 stores of various types. There are primary and secondary schools and cooperative medical rooms in the town. Liuwanjing (xinjinghe) passes through Zhennan, and the township road Aiguo road connects with the Township Central Road, which is convenient for land and water transportation. Wulong temple is located in the north section of Jinzhang highway and beside huigaojing (wulonggang), which is an important road for water and land transportation. Before liberation, Wulong temple was in full swing, and there were three or four small teahouses and cigarette paper shops beside the temple. Before the Anti Japanese War, there was a police station. During the Japanese occupation, the puppets set up cards here to blackmail and extort passing ships. In 1985, there were more than ten stores. Wulong temple was built in 1988. The ancient gingko and wisteria in the temple are luxuriant. It is a cultural relic protection unit of the county.
