Shahe Town

Shahe Town is located in the southwest of the county, adjacent to BAMIAO Township in the East, Hongsi Township in the west, Chixi Township and Changchi town in the south, Tuanjie Township and Leba town in the north. It is named after Shahe Town and 30 km away from the county. Covering an area of 54.77 square kilometers, the town governs 15 administrative villages, including Tianqiao, Jiangying, Luoping, Hongqi, Wulang, Zhongling, Jianxin, Xingguang, Shangying, Lianmeng, Hongguang, Jinxing, Shiling and Jiuqing, 59 communities and 2 neighborhood committees in Shahe and Luoping, with a total population of 17586 (2017).

On December 23, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Bazhong City to adjust the administrative divisions of some villages and towns in Bazhou District and other three counties (districts) (cfzm [2019] No. 23): Leba town was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Shahe Town, and the people's government of Shahe Town was stationed at No. 432 Luoping street.

Historical evolution

Shahe Town was under the jurisdiction of Wuya Township in Qing Dynasty, the seventh district (BAMIAO District) of Nanjiang County in Sichuan Shaanxi Soviet Area, the second district from 1935 to 1951, and Shahe district from 1956 to April 2001. Shahe office was set up in 2001. It was under the jurisdiction of Shahe district. In April 2005, after the township (town) institutional reform, the office was removed and the township (town) was merged, it was an independent town in Nanjiang county . In December 2019, Leba town will be abolished and its administrative area will be put under the jurisdiction of Shahe Town. The people's Government of Shahe Town will be stationed at 432 Luoping street.

Shahe Town has a unique geographical location, surrounded by peaks, and the South River passes through, with abundant annual precipitation. The climate is mild, the light is suitable, the winter is cold, the spring is early, the summer is hot, the autumn is cool, the four seasons are distinct. The town has a forest area of 275 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 50.2%. It is one of the demonstration townships (towns) of soil and water conservation in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

In the territory of the long-standing "huangberlin", the ancient trees are tall and straight, the branches are luxuriant, the sun is blocked, and the scenery is picturesque. Two kilometers north of the town government is on the side of Shanan road. Tiansheng stone has a span of 36 meters from north to South and a width of about 6 meters from east to west. It is magnificent and looks like a stone arch bridge, so it is called "Tiansheng bridge". A temple is built on the bridge, with incense curling around for many years and pilgrims constantly. The natural landscape and cultural landscape are integrated. "ZHUGE village" is located in Lianmeng village, covering an area of 2 square kilometers. It is said that Zhuge Liang had stationed troops here in ancient times, so it got its name. Under the village, two "thousand year old Mandarin Duck and gingko trees" soared into the sky. They looked like a canopy and looked like lovers. They were inseparable. When Premier Wen Jiabao visited Lianmeng village in March 2001, he took a group photo with provincial, municipal, county, township and village cadres. Due to the establishment of the ecological concept of "improving soil, harnessing water and returning forest", we have paid close attention to the "natural protection project" and "returning farmland to forest", advocated the protection of the "Mother River" by the whole people, and vigorously renovated the environment. Shahe Town is located at the intersection of Bazhong Guangyuan highway and Banan highway. It has been an important town in northern Sichuan since ancient times. Its annual output is 1200 tons of Yinhua, 1000 tons of Haijiao, 330000 live pigs, 8000 yellow sheep, 2000 cattle and 200000 small poultry. Jianqian sheep and yellow sheep breeding farm, 15 yellow sheep development communities, including 3 standard demonstration communities, raising 130000 yellow sheep annually.
