Longtan town

Longtan Town, formerly under the jurisdiction of Conghua City, is located in the west of Conghua. Originally known as SONGTAN, because there is a deep pool near the town, and near the pine forest, so the name.

In 2004, Longtan town was abolished and its administrative region was merged into Aotou town.

brief introduction

During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), a Polder was set up. Because there was a small river flowing through it, it was called Longtan. It originally belonged to Qingyuan County and was assigned to Conghua County in 1958. Longtan commune was established in 1961, changed to a district in 1983 and established as a town in 1986.

The town covers an area of 103.47 square kilometers and has 19 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee with a total population of 41720.
