History of construction

At the beginning of the Republic of China, Shuguang township was the first autonomous region of Keshan County. In 1929, it was divided into the third district. After the fall of Northeast China in 1931, it belonged to Beixing village. In 1946, it belonged to Beixing district.

In 1952, it was named tongjiatun.

In April 1956, it belongs to Beixing township.

In September 1958, Beixing township was transformed into Beixing commune.

In March 1962, Shuguang commune was established.

In April 1984, Shuguang commune was transformed into Shuguang township.
