Dongcheng Street is one of the four streets in the main urban area of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the middle of Dongguan City, the East Bank of the Pearl River Estuary and the Pearl River Delta downstream of Dongjiang River. The geographical coordinates are 113 ° 31 ′ - 114 ° 15 ′ E and 22 ° 39 ′ - 23 ° 09 ′ n. Guangzhou in the north, Shenzhen in the south, the geographical location is superior. The area is about 110 square kilometers, with a total population of nearly 500 thousand, of which 200 thousand of the permanent population (more than 80 thousand of registered residence) and 300 thousand of the floating population.

Historical evolution
In 1986, Dongguan city began to withdraw districts and build towns, implementing the system of villages under the jurisdiction of towns;
On February 4, 1986, with the approval of Guangdong provincial government, Dongguan City, Huangcun District, Wanjiang district and Fucheng District were abolished, and Dongguan City sub district office, Wanjiang District sub district office, Fucheng District sub district office and Huangcun District sub district office were established.
In March 2000, the attached District Office was abolished and the Dongcheng District Office was established.

From 2005 to 2009, the annual average temperature was 23.1 ℃. The warmest year is 2006, with an average annual temperature of 23.6 ℃; the coldest year is 2008, with an average annual temperature of 22.7 ℃. The coldest month is January and the hottest month is July. The annual extreme maximum temperature was 37.8 ℃ (appeared on August 20, 2006), and the annual extreme minimum temperature was 3.1 ℃ (appeared on December 23, 2008). The average sunshine hours from 2005 to 2009 were 1873.7 hours, accounting for 42% of the total sunshine hours. Among them, in 2009, the sunshine hours reached 2059.5 hours, accounting for 46% of the annual sunshine hours.

The main rivers in Dongcheng Street are Dongjiang River, Shima River and Hanxi river. 96% of the city is located in Dongjiang River Basin. The main stream of Dongjiang River enters from Huicheng District and BOLUO County of Huizhou City in the northeast, and then runs from east to west along the northern border to xinkaihekou of Qiaotou town. There is the inflow of Shima River from Bao'an District of Shenzhen City, and the inflow of Qishi River from Qishi town.

Animals and plants
There are many kinds of wild animals in Dongcheng, which are mainly distributed in mountainous and hilly areas. Most of the larger wild animals live in the southeast mountainous areas, and most of them are found in Pingchuan and hilly areas. The main wild animals are: mammals, birds, fish (134 species), crustaceans and a variety of shellfish, amphibians, reptiles, insects and so on. The main wild plants are: 114 species of trees, 23 species of bamboos, 48 species of aquatic vascular plants in inland waters, more than 40 species of fruits and 89 species of wild Chinese herbal medicine. There are 8 phyla and 110 genera of plankton in inland waters.

Huangqishan City Park: located in the central area of the city at the intersection of Dongguan Avenue and Dongcheng Middle Road, the park covers an area of 3 square kilometers. It is a comprehensive tourist resort integrating sightseeing, leisure, mountaineering and fitness. The main tourist attractions include the ancient Guanyin Temple in Huangqi, Huangling Taoist temple, Lianquan and the "lantern on the top of the mountain", which is one of the eight scenic spots in Dongguan. At present, the park has become a good place for the general public and tourists to pray in the temple, have a Qingming outing, climb high on the Double Ninth Festival, and climb mountains in the morning and evening.
Dongcheng style pedestrian street: located in Dongcheng Avenue, Dongcheng District, the street integrates leisure, shopping, sightseeing and recreation. It is the first style leisure commercial pedestrian street in Dongguan.
Dongcheng Culture Square: located beside Dongcheng Avenue, it covers an area of more than 40000 square meters, with a construction area of 10400 square meters, including Dongcheng culture center, opera house, sports hall, library, outdoor music fountain and other supporting facilities. It is a comprehensive entertainment place with novel design and complete functions. Among them, the opera house has nearly 1300 seats, which is one of the larger and higher grade theaters in Dongguan.
Dongcheng shisanwan Food Street: located in the north of Dongsheng Road, Dongcheng, covering an area of about 30000 square meters, there are more than 50 restaurants, mainly including Cantonese, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
