Xiazhuang town is located in the north of Gaomi City, Shandong Province, adjacent to the city. It is the hometown of Nobel Prize winner Mo Yan. There are 115 villages, 27000 households and 92064 people (2017) in the town, covering an area of 171.53 square kilometers. Qingdao Yinchuan Expressway and weijiao highway cross the East and West, and the normal highway and the planned new south north passage of Qingdao run through the north and south. It is about 70 kilometers away from Qingdao port and airport. It is an important node of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone and Jiaodong Peninsula high-end manufacturing gathering area, known as "jinxiazhuang".
