Dangcheng Town, a township under the jurisdiction of Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the northwest of Quyang County, 15 kilometers away from the county seat, bordering Lingshan Town in the East, Xiaomu town in the south, Wangkuai Reservoir in the west, Beitai Township and Lingshan Town in the north. The largest distance from east to west is 14 kilometers, and the largest distance from north to south is 12 kilometers, with a total area of 57.23 square kilometers, including 17.6 square kilometers of water area. Dangcheng township is a warm temperate semi-arid region, with a significant continental monsoon climate. It is cold and dry in winter, hot and humid in summer, with four distinct seasons, slightly longer in winter and spring, and slightly shorter in summer and autumn. In winter, there is more northwest wind and in summer, there is more southeast wind.

There are Wangkuai reservoir, Zhaidi reservoir and qiguzhuang reservoir in both urban and rural areas. The capacity of Wangkuai reservoir is 1389 million cubic meters. The water area is 17.6 square kilometers.
Wangkuai reservoir is located in the middle reaches of Shahe River, the South Branch of Daqing River system, and in the west of zhengjiazhuang village, Dangcheng Town, Quyang County. In June 1958, construction began. In July 1960, it was basically completed. The reservoir is responsible for flood control and security of 21 cities and counties in the downstream areas, including Beijing Guangzhou railway, Beijing Kowloon Railway, Beijing Shenzhen Expressway, 107 national highway, North China Oilfield and the downstream areas. The limited water level in flood season is raised from 190m to 193m, the design flood level is 208.36m, and the check flood level is 214.36m.

Quyang stone carving
Since the Western Han Dynasty, stone workers in Quyang have used marble to carve steles and other objects. In the Northern Wei Dynasty, the statues of Buddha and stone lions in Quyang's stone carvings had a unique style. In the Tang Dynasty, Quyang became the birthplace and carving center of white marble statues in northern China. By the Yuan Dynasty, Quyang stone carving was well-known; in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Quyang stone carving was more exquisite. Dangcheng town is the hometown of Quyang stone carving.

The site of Dangcheng in Han Dynasty
The Han Dynasty site of Dangcheng is located between Hedong Village and Chengnan village, Dangcheng Town, Quyang County. It is adjacent to Quyang Wangkuai Reservoir highway in the north and Daliang Mountain in the south. It is located on the highland on the East Bank of Shahe River. The existing city wall is roughly divided into three sections. The first section is located in the south of Hedong Village, with a remnant length of 164 meters, north-south trend; the second section is located in the east of Chengnan village, with a remnant length of 75 meters, east-west trend; the third section is located in the north of Chengnan village, with a remnant length of 200 meters, north-south trend, arc-shaped. The perimeter of the city wall is about 870 meters, and the total area of the city site is 0.375 square kilometers. In the excavation of the remnant city wall and on the cliffs, a large number of debris, tiles and the mouth of pots and vats are exposed. Arrowheads, pottery (remains), bronze mirrors, bronze washes and human bones have also been found. Some skulls have arrowheads. Judging from the cliff culture layer, pottery pieces and unearthed artifacts, they should be Han Dynasty sites.
