Xiahe Township

Xiahe township is located in the northwest of Yunxiao County, bordering the county in the south, Pinghe and Zhaoan in the north, Mapu in the East and Pinghe in the West. It is an old revolutionary base township. It governs 23 administrative villages and 136 natural villages, including 19 old villages. Podou she village is the only minority village in our county. Banyun line of provincial road and Xiada line of county road run through the whole township.

Xiahe township government is 2 kilometers away from Yunxiao Chengguan. The fourth phase of affordable housing, Jinyuan Huarong community, Hongmao city garden, Shiban community and other commercial and residential urban construction projects have been settled in the town. There are 35 party branches and 1421 party members in the township. With mild climate, abundant products, outstanding people and simple customs, it has formed a good investment environment and is known as the treasure land in the west of Yunxiao.

Xiahe township has convenient transportation, perfect communication, power supply, water supply and other infrastructure. It is only 1km away from Yunxiao Chengguan, 5km away from Xiamen Shenzhen high speed railway transfer station (under construction, completed in 2009), and 15km away from 50000 tonnage port (under construction). The banyun line of provincial road and the lower curve of county road run through the whole township. To the south, there is Yunling 110kV substation. To the East, the drinking water channel flows through the township government.

With the approval of the provincial people's government, Xiahe industrial concentration area was established in Shiban village. The area is only 1km away from Chengguan. It is the throat of Xiahe, Heping and Mapu with a population of 130000 and Pinghe leading to Yunxiao Chengguan. Its geographical location is very superior, with convenient transportation, sufficient water and electricity.

Xiahe township has a good ecological environment. It has a subtropical warm and humid monsoon climate with abundant sunshine and rainfall. The annual temperature is 21.1 ℃. The annual average temperature in the hottest month (July) is 28.2 ℃. The average temperature in the coldest month (January) is 13.3 ℃. The average annual precipitation is 1727mm. The dominant wind direction throughout the year is northeast wind, which is very suitable for planting tea, medicinal materials and other economic crops. Xianshi "dingdongkeng" and Meilin and qigaoshi "Yanzishan" two tea production bases have been initially formed, which will drive the development of tea industry in 13 villages in neipian.

Characteristic products

Xiahe jujube: belongs to Rutaceae kumquat genus, also known as kumquat, scientific name Luofu. In order to keep good characters of Zizyphus jujuba, grafting is needed. Xiahe Zizyphus jujuba has thin skin, tender meat, good color, fragrance and taste. In the past, Xiahe jujube was exported to Singapore, Hong Kong and other Southeast Asian countries, Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province and Zhaoan County as raw materials for jujube products. Jujube products are salty and sweet. Salty jujube can be used as medicine, while sweet jujube is the best product in festive season. Jujube planting area is 12200 mu, with a total output of 2259 tons.

Xiahe carambola: carambola is one of Yunxiao's traditional competitive products. It once sold well in Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asia markets for its large grain, sweet fruit and bright color. Xiahe village of Xiahe township has been planting carambola for 148 years.

The township hired experts from the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences to establish a variety improvement experimental Park, planned and built a 500 mu carambola planting demonstration base in Xiahe, selected the local variety "Huwei species" for promotion and planting, took the lead in introducing Malaysia crystal carambola, Taiwan soft branch carambola and other varieties for high grafting and planting, and promoted planting in the township. He also focused on helping fruit farmers improve flower thinning, fruit thinning and bagging The quality of Carambola was further improved in color, granule and sweetness.
