Shiqiao Town, belonging to Yiyuan County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, is located in the east of Yiyuan County, bordering Zhangjiapo town in the East, Dongli town in the southeast, Zhongzhuang town in the southwest, Yuezhuang town in the West and Yeyuan town in Linqu County in the north. The area is 112.68 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 30753 people registered residence.

In March 1958, Shiqiao township was set up in Yuezhuang district and Daquan Township in Dongli District. In September of the same year, shashiqiao Township established Haoshan commune and Wanxiang Commune by withdrawing Daquan township. In December of the same year, Haoshan and Wanxiang commune merged to establish Shiqiao commune. In June 1965, Shiqiao township was withdrawn, and its jurisdiction was incorporated into Yuezhuang district and Zhangjiapo district respectively. In May 1971, Shiqiao commune was established from Yuezhuang commune and Zhangjiapo commune. In June 1984, the township (town) was changed from a society, which was called Shiqiao district. In September 1985, the district was withdrawn and restored to Shiqiao township. In October 2010, Shiqiao Town was established. In June 2020, Shiqiao Town governs 29 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 51 industrial enterprises in Shiqiao Town, including 9 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 39 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Before 1936, Shiqiao Town belonged to eight districts of Yishui County.

In 1943, it belonged to Daquan District of Yibei county.

In May 1944, Yiyuan County was designated as Daquan district.

In April 1950, it was renamed the seventh district.

In October 1955, it was renamed Daquan district.

In February 1956, Daquan district was abolished and merged into Dongli District and Yuezhuang district respectively.

In March 1958, Shiqiao township was set up in Yuezhuang district and Daquan Township in Dongli District.
