Taiping Town

Taiping Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Xingwen County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northeast of Xingwen County. It is the location of Miao Industrial Park in Xingwen County. It is 6.2km away from the county. It borders Maling town of Xuyong County in the East, Gusong town in the south, Gongle town in the West and Lianhua town in the north, covering an area of 64.3km. On August 28, 2019, Taiping town of Xingwen County was abolished and no longer existed as a township.

On August 26, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the adjustment of some administrative regions of Yibin City, abolishing Taiping Town and putting its administrative region under the jurisdiction of Gusong Town, whose people's government is located at No. 31 Yanjing street.

Historical evolution

Taiping town was originally a rural area of Qingchuan. In the 24th year of the Republic of China, Taiping joint protection was established in some areas of Zhenxi, Hepan and other townships. The market is named Taiping Street, also known as Taiping Bridge. There is a stone arch bridge from the market entrance, which is named Taiping Bridge. Therefore, Taiping town gets its name.

In 1951, it was divided into three townships: Dachi, Chuannong and Sanxing.

It was changed into red star commune in 1958.

In 1984, it was renamed Hongxing township.

In 1992, it was changed into Taiping town after the adjustment of the organizational system, and the new big mill was in charge.
