Gaocun town

Gaocun Town, formerly known as Fuzhou, is now the seat of Mayang Miao Autonomous County in Hunan Province. It is the political, economic, transportation and cultural center of the county.

In September 2019, it won the title of "national model collective of national unity and progress".

Introduction to history

In the second year of Tang Dynasty (686), Fu Zhou was established here; in the Five Dynasties and early Song Dynasty, Xiang yonghuan, the leader of the Miao nationality, took over the power here; in the Qing Dynasty, an inspection office was set up; with the benefit of Jinshui, the water transportation was developed, and it became the material distribution center of the border between Hunan and Guizhou. In 1953, the people's Government of Mayang County moved here from Jinhe town.

Gaocun town was formed on April 27, 2006 by the merger of Gaocun Township and Gaocun town. It has eight communities: Gaolong, Lanjia, Binhe, Yaoli, Xueli, yuzipo, Fengye and Xinglong. There are 10 village committees in tonglingxi, dalongchong, Manshui, Malan, Tongxi, maomaopo, Chetou, Longchi, Datang and dalilin. lvxikou Township, Liping Township, gudapo Township and Gaocun town were formed and merged into Gaocun town. The newly established Gaocun town governs 39 organic villages and 10 communities, with a total area of 190.67 square kilometers (in 2017) and a total population of 126719 (in 2017). The town people's government is stationed at Daqiao road.

economic development

The Party committee and government of Gaocun town have vigorously implemented the development idea of "stabilizing the town by agriculture, strengthening the town by industry, invigorating the town by commerce and business, and brightening the town by urban management". The town's economy and social undertakings have developed well and rapidly. By the end of 2009, the gross national product (GDP) of the whole town reached 573 million yuan, and it has been rated as one of the "top ten towns" in Huaihua's economic development.
