Zhangjiawan Town belongs to Fuxian County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the northwest of Fu County, it is connected with Zhiluo town in the East, Zhiluo town in the south, Taibai town in Heshui County in Gansu Province in the west, Yongning Town in Zhidan County and Dao town in Ganquan County in the northwest. The largest distance from east to west is 31 kilometers, and the largest distance from north to south is 39 kilometers, with a total area of 1239.55 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
It gets its name from its surname and terrain.
In 1369, Guiren Erli was set up.
Along the Qing Dynasty.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was five townships in heishuisi district.
In April 1948, Dangping township was changed to Zhangjiawan township.
In 1959, it was Zhangjiawan management area.
In 1961, it was changed into Zhangjiawan commune.
In July 1984, the township was set up.
On September 20, 1998, it was changed into a town.
