Gilgelang Township
Gilgelang Township, subordinate to Gongliu County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Gongliu County, adjacent to mohur Township in the East, Hejing County, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in the south, Tekes County in the West and agalsen Township in the north, with a total administrative area of 426.6 square kilometers.
In 1950, it belonged to a district; in 1984, it was changed to gilgelang township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of the village was 8412. In 2019, six administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of gilgelang Township, and the Township People's government is located in kuogelson village.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of gilgelang township was 1333 yuan. In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise and 13 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in gilgelang township.

In 1962, kuogelson commune was established and later renamed the second commune.

In 1978, it was renamed gilgoran commune.
In 1984, it was changed to gilgelang township.
