Yueyahu Township

Yueyahu township is located 40 km northeast of Yinchuan city. It was originally located in Taole County, Shizuishan city. It is located at the junction of the Maowusu Desert and the Yellow River. Therefore, it is named after a crescent shaped lake. Yueyahu Township covers an area of 329.95 square kilometers, 58.8 kilometers long from north to South and less than 10 kilometers wide from east to west. It is a typical small town along the Yellow River.

In December 2017, it was named as the seventh batch of demonstration units of regional national unity and progress.

Historical evolution

After the unification of China by Qin Dynasty, hunhuai barrier (located in the south of Binggou) was built in Yueya Lake. In the Han and Jin Dynasties, hunhuaizhang was still an important military area. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty set up Licheng county and Jianan County of Licheng County in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. In Sui Dynasty, an County was rebuilt as Guangrun County, and later Guangrun county was changed into Lingwu county. In Tang Dynasty, Lingwu County moved to the south, and hunhuaizhang ancient city was abandoned. After the establishment of Xixia, the provincial Wei city was set up in the north of the county. Yuan is under the jurisdiction of Ningxia Fu Lu, Gansu Province. After the construction of the East Great Wall and the embankment in the south of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, most of the area was located in the north of the Great Wall, which is called the frontier. Since then, it has become a Mongolian Nomadic land. The Qing Dynasty belongs to Suiyuan Province, which is now Etuoke Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. After the Republic of China, it belonged to Taole County of Ningxia. In November 1956, Taole county set up Xinxing Township, located in Yueya Lake. In 1958, Hongxing commune was set up in Gaoren Town, which was established by yueyahu Township and Gaoren township. In 1961, yueyahu commune was established. In 1989, immigrants from Haiyuan County moved here and set up Diaozhuang. In 2003, according to the spirit of the State Council's reply on the adjustment of the administrative divisions of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the organizational system of Taole county was abolished, and the original Taole county was renamed Taole town. Since 2011, 15000 people have been transferred from Pengyang County.

The origin of place names

It is said that in 33 BC, Zhaojun went out to make peace with his relatives and traveled to the Yellow River Ferry. Looking at the rolling water of the Yellow River, he felt very sad. Crossing the Yellow River was a step away from Chang'an. Before leaving, Zhaojun made up his mind not to look back all the way, but as soon as he crossed the Yellow River, his missing for his distant parents suddenly surged into his heart. So, she couldn't help looking back at the direction of her hometown, in a daze. Unconsciously, tears ran across her face and fell on the sand of the river bank. After Zhaojun left, her tears turned into a lake, like the crescent moon, which is called "Crescent Moon Lake". There is also a legend that Yueya Lake is the incarnation of Yuelao. This is the origin of the place name of yueyahu Township in Ningxia.

Binggou tourist area

located on the East Bank of the Yellow River, 38 km away from Yinchuan city. Populus euphratica Forest Reserve

Populus euphratica var. yueyahu forest in Xingqing District of Yinchuan city is the only concentrated forest area in Ningxia. Populus euphratica forest area refers to the natural Populus euphratica forest area within 162 hectares from Yuexu high-voltage transmission line in the East, toudaodun desert edge in the west, yueyahu drainage ditch in the South and sand stone road in front of Xinjin agriculture and forestry company in the north. Populus euphratica is an ancient tree species, which is a unique precious and rare tree resource in desertification area. It plays a very important role in stabilizing the ecological balance, preventing wind and fixing sand, regulating oasis climate and forming fertile forest soil in desertification area. At the same time, it also has important scientific value for the study of climate change, river change and flora evolution in desert area.

cultural education

There are four schools in the township, including one middle school and three primary schools. There are more than 95% of the students in the school. They are agricultural registered permanent residence. They have all been exempted from tuition and miscellaneous fees, and the nine-year compulsory education system has been popularized. We should steadily promote the reform of the new teaching curriculum, establish a fierce mechanism, improve the enthusiasm of teachers and strengthen the construction of teaching staff, and strive to improve the quality of teaching. At the same time, we have raised a lot of funds to increase investment in education. We have strived for all kinds of funds to build new teaching buildings and dormitories in primary and secondary schools. We have basically completed the tasks of "thinning" and "changing danger" in primary and secondary schools, comprehensively promoted the construction of campus standardization, continuously improved school running conditions, and optimized the teaching environment.

Health construction

There is a central health center in the township. With the population growth, it can no longer meet the health care needs of the people in the township. In addition, there are health stations in all villages, which greatly facilitates the difficulty of farmers in seeking medical treatment.

Ecological migration

During the 12th Five Year Plan period, yueyahu Township, Xingqing District, Yinchuan city will accommodate 4000 households and 16800 immigrants, and yueyahu township will become the largest ecological resettlement area in Yinchuan city. yueyahu ecological resettlement area undertakes the resettlement task of 16800 people from 39 villages in 7 townships of Pengyang County, including the relocation of 4260 people from 1016 households in the first phase of the project. The first phase of the resettlement is all from Mengyuan Township, Pengyang County, with a total of 1016 households and 4260 people. In the resettlement area, public facilities such as kindergartens, primary schools, health centers, village level activity places and farmers' markets are built, making the life of residents very convenient. At the same time, after the immigrants moved to their new homes, each household has 54 square meters of housing, one mu of water per capita, and each household has a high-quality cow. All the cows are entrusted to the breeding enterprises, and each immigrant can receive 2800 yuan of dividends every year. In addition, more than 20 enterprises will settle in the 10000 mu dairy ecological breeding Park in yueyahu Township, which can provide nearly 600 jobs for immigrants. The second stage resettlement project has been started, and it is planned to resettle about 8744 people from 2082 households. Ding Wanfu, deputy director of the people's Congress of Xingqing District and Secretary of the Party committee of yueyahu Township, is in charge of the construction of yueyahu ecological resettlement area.

Economics

The township has 25000 mu of arable land, 1120 mu of forest land, 5400 mu of forage area and 23000 mu of Yellow River wetland. In September 2010, Xingqing District planned to build a 10000 mu dairy ecological breeding Park in the southeast sandy wasteland of yueyahu Township, with a total investment of 400 million yuan. It plans to build 17 standardized dairy farms, a large forage distribution center and a dairy technical service center, so as to drive the development of industrial projects in the ecological immigration area.

The township now has 12 administrative villages: yueyahu village, haitaobei village, haitaonan village, Tangnan village, datangbei village, datangnan village, Xiaotang village, binhejiayuan village 1, binhejiayuan village 2, binhejiayuan village 3, binhejiayuan village 4 and binhejiayuan village 5; and a forest farm with a total population of 30659 (2017).
