Jietoumiao town

Jietoumiao town belongs to Huanglong County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the southwest of Huanglong County, it intersects Shibao town in the East, Fengyuan town in Chengcheng County in the south, Shitou town in Luochuan County in the West and Shibao town in the north. Known as the "South Gate" of Huanglong. The maximum distance from east to west is 25.6 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 17 kilometers, with a total area of 271.32 square kilometers.

Jietoumiao town has two national key cultural relics protection units, the Great Wall site of Wei Dynasty and the Liang ancient culture site of Chang'an. There is one xiaosizhuang grottoes and one patriotism education base.

As of June 2020, jietoumiao town has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages. As of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town of 7516 people was over. Historical evolution

It is said that Jing Ke was executed when he assassinated the king of Qin in the Warring States period. In order to recover the remains, Yan people went to Xianyang to steal the corpse. They were discovered by Qin soldiers. In a hurry, they only snatched Jing Ke's head and ran away in a hurry. When they saw that the mountain was abrupt and could be used as a mark, they hid Jing Ke's head here. Since then, the people of Yan set up a temple in the place of zangtou to offer sacrifices. From then on, the place name of "Jitou Temple" came into being. Later, because of the homonym of "Ji" and "Jie", later generations said it was "Jietou Temple". It is named after jietoumiao village where the town people's government is located.

In 1941, Zhongyong township was established.

In 1948, Jietou temple was set up in two districts, governing nine townships.

In 1955, it was merged into six townships.

In 1956, it was changed into five townships, and sunbao township was assigned to Chengcheng County.

In September 1958, the red flag commune was established, and in November of the same year, it was transferred to Luochuan County.

In September 1961, it was also assigned to Huanglong county and renamed jietoumiao commune.

In 1984, jietoumiao township was established.

In 2011, fanjiazhuozi Township and jietoumiao Township were abolished and jietoumiao town was merged.
