Diya Township
Diya township is a township under the jurisdiction of Zada County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. It has three administrative villages: Diya village, shibuqi village and Luba village. Located in the northwest of Zada County, 230 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to India in the west, qusong Township and chulu Songjie Township in the north, Sarang Township in the South and Xiangzi Township in the East. The border line is 68 km long. Located in the Xiangquan valley of the Himalayas, the mountain is high and the valley is deep, which is a Typical Alpine Canyon landform. The average altitude of the whole township is 3700 meters, the altitude of the township government is 2900 meters, and the lowest altitude is 2700 meters, which is the lowest Township in Ali area. It belongs to Xiangquan river system. There are Xiangquan River, Mayang River and other rivers in the territory. The climate is humid. In 2017, there were 858 permanent residents in the township.
Evolution of organizational system
In April 1961, the Diya district was established in Zada County, which has jurisdiction over three townships, namely, Diya Township, shibuqi Township and Luba township. Diya Township governs four administrative villages, namely Diya, Mayang, rongdui and Gutan; shibuqi Township governs four administrative villages, namely shibuqi, jiuba, sergong and Reni; Luba Township governs three administrative villages, namely Luba, Nuba and Yidi. Diya Township belongs to Diya district.
In 1996, the District of Zada county was removed and the township was merged. The administrative regions of Diya Township, shibuqi Township and Luba Township were merged to form Diya township. The original township system was changed to administrative village, and the county was directly under the central government.

Diya township is the origin of gugexuan dance. In June 2008, Ali Xuan dance was listed in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects.

Diya village and nearby villages have also established cooperatives to purchase, transport and sell fruits in a unified way.

In 2018, Diya township of Zada County implemented the economic forest and fruit project, built a fruit processing plant, planted 153.1 mu of apples, apricots and walnuts, and invested more than 25 million yuan by the state.

Diya township is 230 kilometers away from Zhada county. All the roads to Diya are gravel roads, with eight high mountains above 4000 meters in the middle. It took nearly ten hours to reach Diya township.
On the way, you have to cross a 5100 meter high longsla Bingdaban, a 2500 meter high swamp, 103 glaciers, and a 800 meter high Mayang slope. There are 10 180 degree turns back and forth on the slope, and huge stones like tents can be seen everywhere. In June 2015, there were 12 students in Diya Township Primary School. The oldest was less than 10 years old, and the youngest was 6 years old.
