Fangzhu town is 62 km away from Bijie City. Historical evolution

In 1949, it became Hongyan Township, also known as Dongjing township. In 1950, it was renamed Yong'an township. In 1954, it was established as Fangzhu township. In 1958, it was withdrawn and incorporated into Yangjiawan commune. In 1962, Fangzhu and Yong'an communes were established. In 1984, Fangzhu and Yong'an townships were set up. In 1991, Fangzhu township was merged and changed to town in 1994.

Geography and climate

The landform of Fangzhu town is relatively complex, mainly hilly land and steep slope land, with undulating peaks, high in Northeast and low in southwest; the soil is mainly distributed with siliceous lead soil, iron lead yellow brown soil, gray bubble soil, yellow sand soil and paddy soil; the known minerals are mainly coal, limestone, kaolin, marble, peat, etc. The main water system in the territory is Mabu River, which is a tributary of the upper reaches of Liuchong river. The town has four distinct seasons, with annual rainfall of about 1500 mm, annual average temperature of about 12 degrees, frost free period of 230 days, annual maximum temperature of 28 degrees, minimum temperature of minus 6 degrees, and maximum temperature from June to July, belonging to subtropical climate zone.

Fangzhu town is rich in mineral resources, mainly coal, clay, marble and so on. It is preliminarily proved that the anthracite reserves of the whole town reach 25 million tons, and there is a coal factory with an annual output of 90000 tons; the clay reserves reach 18 million tons, which is a virgin land for development. Relevant experts are investigating and demonstrating that the government is actively making efforts to increase investment promotion, and strive to make clay resources become the main pillar industry to promote the economic and social development of the town as soon as possible. Baini village is located in the east of Fangzhu Town, bordering Yangjiawan Town, yejiao Township, Fangzhu village and bolegou village. It has six villager groups and one village office building.
