The township is located in the southwest of Jingyan County, Sichuan Province, 26 kilometers away from the county seat, at the junction of Rong County and Qianwei county. It is a pure agricultural township with an area of 32.36 square kilometers. The township governs 1 community neighborhood committee, 5 administrative villages and 51 Village (residents) groups. The total population of the township is 5656 (2017). In 2003, the cultivated land area was 16577 mu, including 7406 mu of farmland and 3130 mu of soil. The forest land is 8965 mu, the forest coverage rate is 44.5%, and the water area is 1198 mu.

in December 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District. In 2005, the township completed the planting area of 25162 mu, with a total grain output of 6.8891 million jin. 2.32 million pigs were sold. By introducing bamboo weaving processing technology from abroad, five bamboo weaving processing households have been developed and driven, and more than 120 surplus labor force have been engaged in bamboo weaving processing.
