In December 2019, with the approval of Mianyang Municipal People's government, heIping town was abolished and Wentong town was established. The administrative area of Wentong town was the administrative area of the former heIping town. Wentong Town People's government was stationed at No. 18, Tianshi street.

Evolution of organizational system

HeIping town is named after heIping town. The town is located at the end of Yanting and heIping highway, 23km north of Yanting County, and on the plateau between Liangbu mountain and Gaoguan mountain. Founded in 1992, the town is the seat of the former heIping district office. It now has two offices, 10 villages and 88 communities, covering an area of 49.85 square kilometers and a total population of 6675 (2017). The area of cultivated land is 13700 mu, including 2890 mu of farmland, 10810 mu of land and 1.2 mu of cultivated land per capita. According to the annals of Yanting County written by Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, there may be a zhangguanqiao in the west of the site. When the site was built, it was named zhangguanchang. According to the villagers, there is a hole on the stone rock in the east of the field, which is deep and dark, with a bottle like mouth and water flowing all the year round. It was renamed heipingchang in 1897. Around the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to Anxiang, and in 1918, it belonged to northern district. Since the 10th year of the Republic of China, it has been in the second district. Due to the frequent wars in Sichuan, in order to strengthen the League training organization, it is the first time to set up the militia on the field to defend against bandits. In the year of the Republic of China, heIping Lianbao office was set up. In the 29th year of the Republic of China, the "new county system" was carried out, and heIping township was set up, with jurisdiction over 14bao and 169jia. In 1950, heIping township was built, belonging to Fenghe district. In 1955, heIping District Office was set up. In 1958, heIping people's commune was established. In 1984, heIping township was restored, belonging to heIping district. in 1992, the district was removed to build a town, and heIping and ciguang merged to form heIping town.

Lotus Lake
