Zhufo Township
Zhufo Township, belonging to Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the east of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County. It is connected with tonglou Township and Shijia town of Qianjiang District in the East, Meiziya town and Anzi town in the south, Lujiao town in the West and Sangzhe town in the north. It is 68km away from the residence of Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County Government, with a total area of 122.67 square kilometers.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), zhufo townships were divided into Qinghe and Shuanghe townships. In February 1984, zhufo commune was changed into zhufo township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of zhufo township was 16117. As of June 2020, zhufo village has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in shuanghechang.
The main food crops in zhufo township are corn, rice and sweet potato; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, goats, cattle and poultry; the main industry is individual processing industry. In 2018, zhufo Township had 18 industrial enterprises and 22 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
Zhufo township is named after the Buddhist temple built in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Qinghe and Shuanghe. In 1946, zhufo township was established in Qinghe and Shuanghe townships.
In February 1951, zhufo township was divided into zhufo Township and Zhenjia Township, which were changed into six districts.
In September 1958, zhufo township was changed into zhufo commune.
In February 1984, zhufo commune was changed into zhufo township.
In August 2001, Zhenjia township was merged into zhufo township.

In 1997, zhufo village had eight administrative villages, zhufo village, hongyanqiao village, Tianba village, Qingling village, Fuxing village, Yanjia village, Xiaoli village and Qinghe Village.
In 2001, after the zoning adjustment, zhufo Township had jurisdiction over the administrative areas of the former zhufo Township and Zhenjia Township, with a total of 16 administrative villages, and the township government was stationed in zhufogang.
In 2002, zhufo township government moved from zhufogang to shuanghechang.
In 2011, zhufo village has 10 administrative villages, including zhufo, Qinghe, Fuxing, Hongyandong, Qingling, shuanghechang, Hongmen, Shihua, Gongan and miaochi, and 54 villager groups.
