Lanqiao town
Lanqiao Town, subordinate to Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the south of Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, bordering Songtao and Miao Autonomous County of Guizhou Province in the East, South and West, and Zhongling and Meijiang towns in the north. It is about 34 kilometers away from the government of Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, with a total area of 68.19 square kilometers.
In Qin Dynasty, Lanqiao town belonged to Qianzhong County; in July 2001, it was changed from Lanqiao township to Lanqiao town. By the end of 2018, the population of Lanqiao town registered residence was 19104. As of June 2020, Lanqiao town has one community and five administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in the economic construction group of Hongwei community.
The main food crops in Lanqiao town are rice and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle and poultry; the main industry is manganese mining, prefabrication processing and green brick roasting. History of construction
Lanqiao town was originally named Lanqiao, and later evolved into Lanqiao.
In Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Qianzhong county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Youyang County.
Jianan in the Eastern Han Dynasty belonged to Danxing county.
In Shu Han Dynasty, it belonged to Xiyang County.
In Sui and Tang Dynasties, it belonged to Wuchuan County.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was named Lanqiao; in the first year of Qianlong (1736), it belonged to Xiushan County.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to the first district, the Fifth District and the fifth guidance District of Xiushan County.
In June 1951, Lanqiao township was established.
In September 1958, Lanqiao township was changed into Lanqiao commune.
In December 1983, Lanqiao commune was restored to Lanqiao township.
In July 2001, Lanqiao township was changed from township to town.
